የዘንድሮውን በዓል ለየት ካደረጉት ሁነቶች መካከል በወጣት ኢንጂነር ሳምሶን ራማቶ የተዘጋጀው የወላይታ ብሔር ዲጂታል የዘመን አቆጣጠር (Gifaataa Digital Calendar) ይፋ መደረጉ ነው። ወጣቱ የብሔሩን የዘመን ቀመር ወደ ዲጂታል ሥርዓት ለማሸጋገር ላደረገው የላቀ ጥረት ከታዳሚው ከፍተኛ አድናቆት እና ምስጋና የተቸረው ሲሆን፣ ተጠቃሚዎች ይህንን የዘመን አቆጣጠር በጎግል ክሮም (Google Chrome) መፈለጊያ ላይ "Wolaita. netlify .app" ብለው በመጻፍ ማግኘት እንደሚችሉ በዕለቱ ተገልጿል።

ዝግጅቱ የተለያዩ ጥናታዊ ጽሑፎች እንዲሁም አዝናኝ እና ቁምነገር አዘል ባህላዊ ጭውውቶች የቀረቡበት ነበር። ታዳሚው ልዩ ልዩ ባህላዊ ምግቦችን (የጥሬ ሥጋ ቁርጥ በዳታ አዋዜ፣ ቆጭቆጮ፣ ቡላ እና የመሳሰሉትን) እየተመገበ በዓሉን ያከበረ ሲሆን፣ የዕለቱ መርሃ ግብር በሴቶች የ‘ኩላ ኩርቹቼ’ እና በወንዶች የ‘ባልሄሌሌ’ ባህላዊ ጨዋታዎች በድምቀት ተጠናቋል።

ይህ የዘንድሮው የጊፋታ በዓል፣ ትውፊቱ ከባህላዊ አልባሳቱ (ዱንጉዛ ሀዲያ)፣ ምግቡ እና አጨዋወቱ ጋር በመሆን እ.ኤ.አ. በ2025 በተባበሩት መንግሥታት የትምህርት፣ የሳይንስ እና የባህል ተቋም (UNESCO) በማይዳሰሱ የዓለም ባህላዊ ቅርሶች (Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) ዝርዝር ውስጥ ከተመዘገበ በኋላ የተከበረ የመጀመሪያው በዓል በመሆኑ ታሪካዊ ፋይዳው የጎላ ሆኗል።

ሞዲ እና የሕንድ መልክዓ ምድር

#ethiopia | ሕንድ — ተራሮች፣ ሜዳዎችና ወንዞች ይናፈቃሉ።

ሕንድ በሰፊ የተፈጥሮ መልክዓ ምድር የምትታወቅ ሀገር ስትሆን፣ ከፍተኛ ተራሮች፣ ሰፊ ሜዳዎች፣ ወንዞችና ረጅም የባሕር ዳርቻዎች አሏት።

ሂማላያ (Himalayas) — በሰሜን ሕንድ የሚገኝ ሥመጥር ተራራ ነው።

ካንቸንጁንጋ (Kangchenjunga) — በሕንድና ኔፓል ድንበር አካባቢ የሚገኝ፣ በሕንድ ውስጥ ከፍተኛው ተራራ ይዟል።

ዌስተርን ጋትስ እና ኢስተርን ጋትስ — በደቡብና ምዕራብ ክፍሎች የሚገኙ የተራራ ሰንሰለቶች አይዘነጉም።

ኢንዶ–ጋንጌቲክ ሜዳ (Indo-Gangetic Plain) — በሰሜን ሕንድ የሚገኝ በጣም ሰፊና ለእርሻ ምቹ ሜዳ ሲሆን ይህ አካባቢ በወንዞች በሚመጣ ለም አፈር ምክንያት ለሩዝ፣ ስንዴና ሌሎች ሰብሎች አስፈላጊ ምድር ሆኗል።

ጋንጋ (Ganges/Ganga) — ከሕንድ ታላላቅና በባህል እጅግ አስፈላጊ ወንዞች አንዱ ነው።

ያሙና (Yamuna) — በሰሜን ሕንድ የሚፈስ፣ በአግራና ዴልሂ አካባቢ በጸጥታ፤ በዝምታ የሚጓዝ ወንዝ- እንደ ዓባይ ወንዝ አይገማሸርም።

ብራህማፑትራ (Brahmaputra) — በሰሜን-ምሥራቅ ሕንድ የሚፈስ ትልቅ ወንዛችን ነው - ይላሉ።

ጎዳቫሪ (Godavari)፣ ክሪሽና (Krishna) እና ናርማዳ (Narmada) — በሕንድ የውሃና የግብርና ሥርዓት ውስጥ ትልቅ ሚና ያላቸው ወንዞች ናቸው።

ከወንዞቹ ግርጌ የሂማላያ ተራራ፤ ከፍታ ይታያችሁ።

ሂማላያ በሰሜን፣ ሰፊው የኢንዶ–ጋንጌቲክ ሜዳ በመካከል፣ ብዙ ትላልቅ ወንዞች ደግሞ በሀገሪቱ ውስጥ ተስፋፍተው ይገኛሉ።

ከ1.4 ቢሊዮን በላይ ሕዝብ ያላት ሀገር፤
በለውጥ መንገድ ...

ሕንድ በዓለም ትልቁ የሕዝብ ብዛት ያላት ሀገር፣ በፈጣን እድገት ላይ ካሉ ኢኮኖሚዎች አንዷ እና በእስያ የፖለቲካና የዲፕሎማሲ ተጽዕኖዋን እያሳደገች የምትገኝ ሀገር ናት። አዲስ ዴልሂ በአንድ በኩል የውስጥ ልማትንና ዲጂታል ኢኮኖሚን ለማስፋፋት ሲሠራ፣ በሌላ በኩል ከአሜሪካ፣ ቻይና፣ ሩሲያ፣ የአውሮፓ ሀገራትና ከአፍሪካ ጋር ያላትን ግንኙነት ለማስፋት ትጥራለች።

ሞዲ እና የሕንድ የፖለቲካ ገጽታ

የሕንድ ፖለቲካ በፕሬዚዳንታዊ ሥርዓት ሳይሆን በፓርላማዊ ዴሞክራሲ ላይ የተመሠረተ ነው። የጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር መንግሥት በሕንድ ፖለቲካ ውስጥ ከፍተኛ ተጽዕኖ ያለውን ቦታ ይዟል።

በተለይም የሕንድ ፖለቲካ በልማት፣ በብሔራዊ ማንነት፣ በዲጂታል ለውጥ፣ በሥራ ዕድል እና በማኅበራዊ ፖሊሲዎች ዙሪያ የሚደረጉ ክርክሮች ይበዛባቸዋል።

ሕንድና ቻይና

ሕንድና ቻይና በአንድ በኩል ትልቅ የንግድ አጋሮች ሲሆኑ፣ በሌላ በኩል በድንበርና በጂኦፖለቲካ ጉዳዮች ውዝግብ ያላቸው ሁለት ኃያላን ሀገራት ናቸው።

በ2020 የተከሰተው የድንበር ግጭት ግንኙነታቸውን አበላሽቶ ነበር። አሁን ግን ሁለቱ ሀገራት ግንኙነታቸውን በቀስታ ለማሻሻል እየሞከሩ ናቸው። የሁለቱ ሀገራት ንግድ በ2025 ወደ 155 ቢሊዮን ዶላር ደርሶ ነበር፣ በ2026 የመጀመሪያዎቹ ሰባት ወራትም ተጨማሪ 23% ጭማሪ ተመዝግቧል።

ይህ ለሕንድ ትልቅ የስትራቴጂ ጉዳይ ነው፤ ቻይናን እንደ ተፎካካሪ እያየች በተመሳሳይ ጊዜ ከቻይና ጋር ያለውን የንግድ ግንኙነት ማቋረጥ አትፈልግም።

BRICS እና የሕንድ ዓለም አቀፍ ተጽዕኖ

በ2026 ሕንድ የBRICS የመሪዎች ጉባኤን እያስተናገደች ነው። የ18ኛው BRICS Summit በኒው ዴልሂ ዛሬ፣ መስከረም 12 ቀን 2026 ተጀምሯል። የጉባኤው ዋና አጀንዳዎች ብዙ-ወገን ዓለም አቀፍ ሥርዓት፣ ፈጠራ፣ ዘላቂነት እና ሁሉን አካታች እድገት ናቸው።

ይህም ሕንድ ከምዕራባዊ ሀገራት ጋር ያላት ግንኙነት እያጠናከረች በተመሳሳይ ጊዜ ከሩሲያ፣ ቻይና እና ከGlobal South ሀገራት ጋር የራሷን የዲፕሎማሲ መንገድ እየገነባች መሆኗን ያሳያል።

ኢኮኖሚ
ከዓለም ገበያ ንዝረት ነፃ ያልሆነ

የሕንድ ኢኮኖሚ በዓለም ላይ ካሉ ትልልቅ ኢኮኖሚዎች አንዱ ነው። ሀገሪቱ በማምረት፣ IT፣ ፋይናንስ፣ ቴሌኮሙኒኬሽን፣ መድኃኒት ማምረት፣ አውቶሞቢል እና አገልግሎት ዘርፎች እያደገች ነው።

ነገር ግን የዓለም የነዳጅ ዋጋ መጨመር ለሕንድ ትልቅ ፈተና ነው። ዛሬ፣ መስከረም 12፣ 2026፣ Brent crude ከ100 ዶላር በላይ በመጨመሩ የሕንድ የአክሲዮን ገበያ በግፊት ውስጥ ገብቷል። Nifty 50 0.86% ወርዶ 23,431.50 ሲደርስ፣ Sensex 1.08% ቀንሶ 74,764.23 ላይ ተዘግቷል።

የሕንድ ሩፒም ወደ 94.82 ሩፒ ለ1 የአሜሪካ ዶላር ደክሟል።

ቴክኖሎጂ
ሕንድ የዲጂታል ኢኮኖሚ ኃይል

ሕንድ በIT እና በዲጂታል አገልግሎት ዘርፍ ዓለም አቀፍ ማዕከል ሆናለች። Bengaluru፣ Hyderabad፣ Mumbai፣ Delhi-NCR እና Pune የቴክኖሎጂ እና የStartup ኢኮሲስተም ዋና ማዕከላት ናቸው።

AI፣ FinTech፣ Digital Payments፣ Cloud Computing እና E-commerce በፍጥነት እያደጉ ናቸው። የUPI ዲጂታል ክፍያ ሥርዓት በተለይ ሕንድን ከዓለም የዲጂታል ክፍያ ምሳሌዎች አንዷ አድርጓታል።

በዚሁ ሳምንት በMumbai የሚካሄደው Global Fintech Fest 2026 የAI፣ FinTech እና የዲጂታል ፋይናንስ የወደፊት አቅጣጫ ዋና የውይይት ርዕስ ሆኗል።

መጓጓዣ እና መሠረተ ልማት

ሕንድ የባቡር፣ የአውራ ጎዳና፣ የአየር ማረፊያ እና የከተማ መጓጓዣ መሠረተ ልማትን በፍጥነት እያስፋፋች ነው።

የDelhi Airport አለም አቀፍ የመንገደኞች አቅምን ለማሳደግ እየሰራ ሲሆን፣ አዲስ የT3 አቅም ማስፋፊያ ሙሉ በሙሉ ሲሰራ ዓመታዊ የአለም አቀፍ ተጓዦች አቅሙ ወደ 31 ሚሊዮን ሊደርስ ይችላል።

ይህ በተለይ ሕንድ እየተቀበለች ካለችው የንግድ፣ የቱሪዝም እና የዓለም አቀፍ ስብሰባ ቁጥር ጋር ተያይዞ ወሳኝ ምዕራፍ ይዟል።

የአየር ሁኔታና የዝናብ ወቅት

የ2026 የMonsoon ወቅት በሕንድ በርካታ ክልሎች የዝናብ እና የጎርፍ ችግሮችን አስከትሏል። በተለይ በBihar 14 ወረዳዎች ከ4 ሚሊዮን በላይ ሰዎች በጎርፍ ተጎድተዋል፣ ምንም እንኳ የወንዞች የውሃ መጠን መቀነስ ቢጀምርም።

የሕንድ የሜትሮሎጂ መምሪያም በተለያዩ ክልሎች ከፍተኛ ዝናብ እንደሚጠበቅ አስታውቋል።

ባህል፣ ሃይማኖትና ቱሪዝም

ሕንድ በባህላዊ ቅርስ፣ በሃይማኖታዊ ቦታዎች፣ በተፈጥሯዊ ውበት፣ በዮጋ፣ በምግብ ባህል እና በታሪካዊ ሐውልቶች በዓለም ከሚታወቁ የቱሪዝም መዳረሻዎች አንዷ ናት።

የሕንድ መንግሥት ቱሪዝምን እንደ የኢኮኖሚ እድገት፣ የሥራ ዕድል እና የክልል ልማት ዋና መሣሪያ እያየው ነው።

ከዚህ በተጨማሪ ሕንድ የባህል ቅርሶቿን በዲጂታል መንገድ ለመመዝገብና ለመጠበቅ እየሰራች ነው። የUNESCO የዓለም ቅርስ ቦታዎቿም ወደ 44 ደርሰዋል።

ቦሊውድ እና የመዝናኛ ኢንዱስትሪ

ሕንድ የዓለም ትልቁ የፊልም ምርት ኢንዱስትሪዎች አንዷ ናት። Bollywood ብቻ ሳይሆን Telugu፣ Tamil፣ Malayalam፣ Kannada እና ሌሎች የክልል የፊልም ኢንዱስትሪዎች በጣም ኃያላን ናቸው።

የሕንድ ፊልም፣ ሙዚቃ፣ ፋሽን እና የTV ይዘት ከአገር ውስጥ ባሻገር በእስያ፣ አፍሪካ እና በዲያስፖራ ማኅበረሰቦች ዘንድ ትልቅ ተደማጭነት አለው።

ክሪኬት : ከስፖርት በላይ

በሕንድ ክሪኬት የስፖርት ጨዋታ ብቻ አይደለም፤ የሚዲያ፣ የማስታወቂያ፣ የንግድ እና የብሔራዊ ማንነት አካል ነው።

በቅርቡ የሕንድ ታዋቂ ተጫዋቾች እና በ2027 World Cup ይሳተፋሉን የሚለው ጥያቄ የስፖርት ዜናውን ተቆጣጥሮታል። ሁለቱም በዚያን ጊዜ ከፍተኛ ዕድሜ ላይ ስለሚሆኑ የተሳትፎአቸው ጉዳይ አሁንም ክፍት ነው።

ሕንድ — ቋንቋ

ሕንድ በርካታ ቋንቋዎች የሚነገሩባት አገር ናት።
ሂንዲ (Hindi) በሕንድ ማዕከላዊ መንግሥት የሕብረቱ/የUnion ኦፊሴላዊ ቋንቋ ነው። ሕገ-መንግሥቱ ሂንዲን በDevanagari ፊደል እንደ የUnion ኦፊሴላዊ ቋንቋ ይደነግጋል።

እንግሊዝኛ (English) ደግሞ ከሂንዲ ጋር በማዕከላዊ መንግሥት ኦፊሴላዊ ሥራዎች፣ ሰነዶችና ግንኙነቶች በስፋት ይጠቀማል። የOfficial Languages Act ሁለቱም ቋንቋዎች በብዙ የUnion መንግሥት ሥራዎች እንዲጠቀሙ ያስቀጥላል።

ሕንድ አንድ ብቻ የአገር አቀፍ “National Language” ያላት አገር አይደለችም። የተለያዩ ግዛቶች የራሳቸውን ኦፊሴላዊ ቋንቋ በሕግ ሊወስኑ ይችላሉ።

ሕንድ ከዓለም ትልቁ እና በፍጥነት እያደጉ ካሉ ኢኮኖሚዎች አንዷ ናት። IMF በ2026 የሕንድ Real GDP ዕድገት 6.4% እንደሚሆን ይገምታል።

ሕንድን በአንድ ሐረግ

ሕንድ የጥንታዊ ሥልጣኔን ቅርስ ከዘመናዊ ቴክኖሎጂ፣ ከፈጣን ኢኮኖሚ እድገት እና ከተጽዕኖ ፈጣሪ ዓለም አቀፍ ዲፕሎማሲ ጋር በማጣመር ወደ 21ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን ኃያል ሀገርነት እየተሸጋገረች ያለች ሀገር ናት።

በ2026 - የነዳጅ ዋጋ፣ የዓለም ጂኦፖለቲካዊ ግጭቶች፣ የከተማ መሠረተ ልማት፣ የሥራ ዕድል፣ የአካባቢ ለውጥ እና በፍጥነት የሚለወጠው የAI ቴክኖሎጂ እየፈተኗት፤ ከወዲሁ እጀጇን እየጠመዘዟት ነው።

ሕንድ ብዙ የፖለቲካ ፓርቲዎች ያሏት ፌዴራላዊ የፓርላማ ሥርዓት ያላት አገር ናት። በብሔራዊና በግዛት ደረጃ የሚንቀሳቀሱ ፓርቲዎች አሉ።

የሕንድ ፖለቲካ ፓርቲዎች

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) — ብሔራዊ ደረጃ ላይ ከፍተኛ ተጽዕኖ ያለው ፓርቲ ሲሆን፣ ፕሬዚዳንት ድሮፓዲ ሙርሙ ከፓርቲው ቢመጡም የሕንድ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ናሬንድራ ሞዲ የBJP መሪ ናቸው።

የትምህርት ሚኒስቴር ቀብሪደሀር ዩኒቨርሲቲን የፔትሮሊየም እና ተፈጥሮ ጋዝ ትምህርቶች ልዩ የልህቀት ማዕከል አድርጎ በይፋ ሰይሟል።

በተሰጠው ሀገራዊ ተልዕኮ መሠረት ቀብሪደሀር ዩኒቨርሲቲ በ2019 ዓ.ም የትምህርት ዘመን «የኢትዮጵያ ፔትሮሊየም እና ኢነርጂ ኢንስቲትዩት» (EIPE) የተሰኘውን አዲስ የልህቀት ማዕከል በይፋ ያስመርቃል።

ዩኒቨርሲቲው በትምህርት ሚኒስቴር ብሔራዊ የእርካታ ዳሰሳ ጥናት አጠቃላይ 2ኛ ደረጃን የተቀዳጀ፣ሰላማዊና ዘመናዊ የመማር ማስተማር አካባቢ ያለው ሲሆን፤ በላቀ ዲጂታል ቤተ-መጽሐፍት፣ በበይነ-መረብ በተሳሰሩ ስማርት ክፍሎች፣ በሲሙሌተሮች እና በ Digital Twins ቴክኖሎጂ የተገጠመ የዲጂታል ዳታ ሴንተር አቅም እንደገነባ ተገልጿል፡፡

ኢንስቲትዩቱ በኦጋዴን ተፋሰስ፣ በካሉብ፣ ሂላላ እና ጎዴ የሚካሄዱትን ግዙፍ የጋዝ፣ የዘይት እና የማዳበሪያ ፕሮጀክቶች በላቀ ብቃት የሚመሩ የነገ መሐንዲሶችንና ባለሙያዎችን የማፍራት ከፍተኛ ኃላፊነት የተጣለበት መሆኑ ተጠቁሟል።

Ethio telecom, in partnership with Djibouti Telecom and Sudatel Group, has successfully hosted a high-level stakeholders' workshop to advance the pre-commercialisation phase of the Horizon Cross-Border Terrestrial Fiber Initiative. Formalized under a robust consortium framework, the secure corridor connects Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Sudan, offering global carriers and hyperscalers a highly reliable, low-latency alternative route for subsea cable traffic across the Red Sea.

Held in Addis Ababa, the workshop focused intensely on the commercial and technical requirements of the high-capacity terrestrial fiber corridor being developed across the region. Engineered with a fully protected, redundant architecture, the route seamlessly links cable landing stations in Djibouti and Port Sudan via Ethiopia, featuring expert network architecture insights from Ciena, Nokia, and BringCom.

The successful gathering convened leading global technology and connectivity organizations, including Google, Meta (via HIPConsult), Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Airtel Africa, Bayobab, WIOCC, Nokia, Ciena, center3, Saudi Vision, and China Mobile International. During these strategic sessions, participating partners and global operators expressed strong interest in leveraging and monetizing the multi-terabit capabilities of the Horizon Fiber corridor.

Jointly developed by the three telecom leaders, the Horizon initiative provides robust data transport, colocation, and hosting services with seamless landing access in Djibouti and Sudan. Designed for high-speed performance and resilience, Horizon empowers next-generation workloads like cloud computing, artificial intelligence, fintech, e-commerce, and digital content delivery.

Ultimately, this milestone showcases how pioneering African operators unite their infrastructure, expertise, and regional reach to shape a more interconnected and digitally empowered future for the continent.

Ethio telecom CEO and ZTE Senior Leadership Hold Strategic Discussions Enhancing Partnership to Accelerate Ethiopia’s Digital Transformation

Ethio telecom CEO Frehiwot Tamru hosted a high-level delegation from ZTE Corporation, led by its Executive Vice President and COO, Mr. Xie Junshi. The meeting evaluated the successful progress of the landmark Network Expansion and Modernization Agreement finalized during the Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona. This engagement underscores a shared vision for accelerating digital infrastructure under the company's Next Horizon: Digital & Beyond 2028 Strategy.

As part of the end-to-end network modernization in the ZTE circle, which encompasses 879 sites, 462 RAN modernization sites (which include LTE layering at 180 sites, LTE upgrading at 248 sites, and a full SWAP of 102 sites), 237 MW link upgrades, and 103 IP RAN site expansions were successfully completed. On top of this, the remaining scopes of the modernization program are under execution, which include 124 new sites, U2100 refarming at 272 sites, and 115 rural solution sites.

This rollout has significantly widened high-speed connectivity, pushing national 4G mobile population coverage to an impressive 92% in ZTE circle. These sites now serve as a robust digital backbone for the nation's evolving economy, enhancing connectivity for millions of citizens across Ethiopia.

CEO Frehiwot Tamru expressed her sincere appreciation for the project's successful execution, emphasizing its vital contribution to achieving the Next Horizon Year One targets. The leadership commended ZTE for their innovative financing model, technical excellence, and dedication to meeting aggressive modernization timelines.

Rural Connectivity: Empowering Communities and Bridging the Digital Divide!

Ethio telecom has successfully completed the first year of its Next Horizon: Digital & Beyond 2028 Strategy, marking significant progress in bridging Ethiopia’s digital divide. At the heart of this strategy is our commitment to inclusive, sustainable and transformative rural connectivity, ensuring that geography, distance and limited access to electricity do not prevent communities from participating in the digital economy.

During the fiscal year, we deployed 195 new rural mobile sites, reaching communities located, on average, 14.3 kilometres from the nearest town and 10.6 kilometres from the nearest existing mobile site. This demonstrates our deliberate focus on connecting Ethiopia’s most remote and underserved areas.

This expansion extended connectivity and digital access to 117 woredas and 492 kebeles and villages, enabling more than 1.53 million people to benefit from reliable communications, digital platforms and inclusive financial services.

To address power limitations in remote areas, we deployed 22 additional Rural Solution sites, specifically designed to serve communities with limited or no access to the national electricity grid. We also significantly expanded our green energy infrastructure, increasing installed solar power capacity from 27 MW to 39.72 MW, an additional 12.72 MW in just one year. This investment strengthens network resilience, reduces dependence on conventional energy sources and advances our environmental sustainability commitments.

Connectivity must also translate into meaningful access to essential services. Through our Rural Agent Project, we onboarded 812 new agents across 17 regions, achieving a 58% active-agent rate and bringing telebirr and other essential digital financial services closer to previously underserved communities. Going forward, we will focus on further improving agent activation, productivity and service availability.

We also advanced the fiberization of rural wireless sites, strengthening network capacity, reliability and service quality while preparing rural communities for growing digital demand.

As we successfully conclude Year One of our Next Horizon: Digital & Beyond 2028 Strategy, Ethio telecom continues to expand and modernize the critical digital infrastructure powering Ethiopia’s transformation.

During the year, we deployed 603 new mobile sites, expanding our nationwide footprint to 10,613 sites, while adding capacity for 10.2 million customers and scaling total mobile network capacity to 115.1 million. To strengthen network resilience, 44% of our sites are supported by backup generators, while 24% of off-grid sites are powered by solar energy.

We expanded 4G/LTE services to 264 additional towns, bringing the total to 1,200 towns and increasing 4G population coverage to 82.2%. Our 5G network now reaches 33 towns, including seven added during the year accelerating access to high-speed, next-generation digital services.

We also strengthened the high-capacity foundation of Ethiopia’s digital economy. Our national backbone fiber and OPGW network now spans 23,422 km, supported by 15,615 km of metro fiber. Total Optical Distribution Network capacity reached 1.46 million, comprising 708,992 greenfield capacity and 759,735 copper-switch-off capacity.

During the year, we migrated 100,000 customers from copper to fiber, helping the fixed-broadband customer base surpass the historic milestone of one million, of whom 443,298 are connected through fiber.

International gateway and local content-cache capacity increased by 1.8 Tbps to 4.3 Tbps, achieving 172% of the annual target. Expanded caching for leading global platforms, including Google, Meta, Netflix, TikTok and Cloudflare, is bringing content closer to users, improving speed and service experience while reducing international bandwidth dependency.

Together, these achievements reinforce Ethio telecom’s role as a principal architect and catalyst of Digital Ethiopia 2030 building a high-speed, resilient, inclusive and future-ready digital infrastructure that connects citizens, empowers businesses, modernizes institutions and unlocks new opportunities across Ethiopia.

Joining the delegation was Mr. Gao Xinjie, Deputy General Manager of Shandong Hi-Speed Road & Bridge International Engineering, reflecting a shared commitment to fostering an integrated partnership that combines advanced digital technologies with state-of-the-art infrastructure development.

Aligned with Ethio telecom's "Next Horizon: Digital & Beyond 2028" strategy, the discussions focused on establishing a strategic partnership that integrates next-generation digital technologies with modern infrastructure to accelerate Ethiopia's digital transformation and strengthen the nation's digital economy. As part of the proposed collaboration, Inspur Software Technology will contribute its expertise in advanced digital infrastructure by supporting the design and deployment of high-performance computing, AI-ready data center solutions, cloud computing platforms, and intelligent digital infrastructure.
