#ethiopia | ወደ መነሻ መስመሩ ይቅረቡ፤ ግራንድ አፍሪካን ረን ~ የተለያዩ የኑሮ ዘርፎችና የሕይወት ታሪኮች ያሏቸውን ሰዎች በአንድ የሚያሰባስብ የ5 ኪሎ ሜትር ሩጫ እና ከባህል ጋር የተቆራኘ የአንድነትና የተሳትፎ ልምድ የሚያቀርብ የትርፍ ያልሆነ ዝግጅት ነው።
ከተለያዩ ትውልዶች የተውጣጡ ቤተሰቦች፣ የተለያየ ዕድሜ፣ የአኗኗር ዳራ፣ ችሎታና የሕይወት ልምድ ያላቸው ሰዎች ተመሳሳይ ቀለም ያላቸውን ሸሚዞች ለብሰው በሩጫው፣ በእግር ጉዞው እና በመራመዱ ይሳተፋሉ።
የግራንድ አፍሪካን ረን መስራች ዶ/ር ጋሻው አበዛ እንደሚሉት፦
“ሁሉም ሰው ተመሳሳይ ዓይነት ሸሚዝ ለብሷል፤ ስለዚህ ማን ዕድሜው የገፋ ወይም ወጣት፣ ሀብታም ወይም ድሃ መሆኑን ማወቅ አይቻልም። በመነሻ መስመሩ አጠገብ የሚፈሱትን ሰዎች ማየት ያለውን ስሜት እወደዋለሁ፤ ምክንያቱም ይህን ዝግጅት ለማዘጋጀት ብዙ ጥረት ይደረጋል።”
ከሩጫ በላይ የሆነ የባህል ተሞክሮ
ግራንድ አፍሪካን ረን በአሌክሳንድሪያ ከተማ በሚገኙ እንደ Old Town እና Potomac Yard ባሉ ሰፈሮች የሚካሄድ ሩጫ ብቻ አይደለም። ይህ አፍሪካዊ ባህልን የሚያስተዋውቅ ልዩ የባህል ተሞክሮም ነው።
በዝግጅቱ የተለያዩ የቀጥታ ትርዒቶች ይቀርባሉ። ሙዚቀኞች የተለያዩ የአፍሪካ ከበሮዎችንና ቫዮሊንን ይጫወታሉ፤ ዳንሰኞችም እስክስታ የተባለውን ባህላዊ የኢትዮጵያ ዳንስ ጨምሮ ከኤርትራ፣ ከሩዋንዳ፣ ከኬንያና ከሌሎችም የአፍሪካ አገራት የተውጣጡ ባህላዊ ውዝዋዜዎችን ያቀርባሉ።
በተጨማሪም ከአፍሪካ ዲያስፖራ የተውጣጡ ምግቦችና የባህል ቅርሶች በነጋዴዎች ይቀርባሉ። የበጎ አድራጎት አጋር ድርጅቶችም ከተሳታፊዎች ጋር በመገናኘት ሩጫውን የሚሳተፉበትን ወይም የሚደግፉበትን የበጎ አድራጎት ዓላማ እንዲመርጡ ያደርጋሉ።
ከእነዚህም መካከል African Women’s Cancer Awareness Association (AWCAA)፣ Your Ethiopian Professionals Network (YEP)፣ Raeye Children Aid (RCA) እና ሌሎች በርካታ ድርጅቶች ይገኙበታል። WIHA የተባለው ድርጅት ደግሞ በአፍሪካ ለሚገኙ በቂ አገልግሎት ላላገኙ ማህበረሰቦች ንጹህ ውሃ፣ የወር አበባ ንጽህና ፓዶችና ሌሎች አስፈላጊ ድጋፎችን ያቀርባል።
አሌክሳንድሪያ፦ የተለያዩ ባህሎች መገናኛ
ዶ/ር ጋሻው አበዛ አሌክሳንድሪያ ለግራንድ አፍሪካን ረን ተስማሚ ስፍራ የሆነችውን ምክንያት ሲገልጹ፦
“ከተማዋ ሰዎቿ ናቸው። ከመላው ዓለም የመጡ ሰዎች በአሌክሳንድሪያ ይኖራሉ። እዚህ ሁሉም ሰው ተቀባይነት አለው፤ ተሞክሮዎቹም ይህንን ያረጋግጣሉ።”
የመስጠትና የማህበረሰብ መንፈሱ በዝግጅቱ ሁሉ ይቀጥላል። ተሳታፊዎች የመኪና ሎተሪ ዕጣ ለመግዛትም ዕድል ያገኛሉ። በዚህ ዓመት ሽልማቱ 2026 Toyota Corolla ነው።
እንዲሁም African Impact Award በተለያዩ የሥራ ዘርፎች የላቀ አስተዋጽኦ ያበረከቱ የአፍሪካ መሪዎችን የሚያውቅና የሚያከብር የሽልማት መርሃ ግብር ነው።
ዶ/ር አበዛ፣ “ለማንም ክፍት ነው። ሁሉም ሰው በሩጫው መሳተፍ ይችላል። ነገር ግን የአፍሪካን ስኬቶች ለማክበር ስለፈለግን ግራንድ አፍሪካን ሩን ብለን ሰየምነው” ይላሉ።
የአፍሪካ የሩጫ ባህል ያነሳሳው ስም
ግራንድ አፍሪካን ረን የሚለው ስም አፍሪካ በሩጫ ዓለም ያላትን ጠንካራ ባህል ያንፀባርቃል። ዶ/ር አበዛ ይህንን ባህል በሥራ ሕይወታቸው መጀመሪያ ላይ ከ30,000 በላይ ተሳታፊዎችን ባሰባሰበ የሩጫ ዝግጅት ላይ በመስራት ተመልክተዋል።
“ያ የሥራ ሕይወቴ የመጀመሪያ ዘመን በጣም ያምር ነበር። ያ ከአምስት ዓመታት በላይ የሠራሁበት የመጀመሪያ ሥራዬ ነበር። በዚያን ጊዜ ወንዶች፣ ሴቶች፣ አካል ጉዳተኞች—ሁሉም አብረው ይሰበሰቡ ነበር።”
ዶ/ር አበዛ ለአምስት ዓመታት ያህል የሩጫ ዝግጅቶችን በማዘጋጀት ያሳለፉ ሲሆን፣ ስፖርት የዕድሜ፣ የባህል፣ የአኗኗር ወይም የችሎታ ልዩነት ሳይገድበው ሰዎችን ማቀራረብ እንደሚችል በተግባር ተመልክተዋል።
በቀጣይ ዓመታትም በስፖርት ቢዝነስ ዘርፍ ተመራማሪ፣ ፕሮፌሰርና አማካሪ በመሆን ሰፊ ልምድ አካብተዋል። የዶክትሬት ትምህርታቸውን ሲጀምሩ፣ ከባለቤታቸውና ከልጆቻቸው ጋር መረጋጋት ሲጀምሩና በሌላ ሀገር ቤት መስራት ምን ማለት እንደሆነ ሲያስቡ ስለሕይወት ዓላማቸው በጥልቀት ማሰብ ጀመሩ።
“ማስተማር እችላለሁ። መጽሐፍትን መጻፍና ተማሪዎችን ማስተማር እችላለሁ። ግን ከዚያስ? ማሰብ ጀመርኩ፤ ‘አንድ ነገር ማድረግ አለብኝ። ሕይወት ወደዚህ የዓለም ክፍል ካመጣኝ፣ መልሼ ለማኅበረሰቡ መስጠት እፈልጋለሁ’ አልኩ። 70 ዓመት ሲሆነኝ ለልጆቼ ምን እነግራቸዋለሁ? እናንተ በሕይወታችሁ ዓላማ አላችሁ፤ እኔም በሕይወቴ ዓላማ አለኝ። ሁሉም ሰው በዚህ ሕይወት ዓላማ አለው፣ አይደል? የእኔ ዓላማ ለሌሎች መስጠት ነው።”
ይህ የሕይወት ዓላማ ፍለጋ የግራንድ አፍሪካን ሩን ሃሳብ እንዲወለድ አደረገ። የሚቀረው ጉዳይ ይህንን ራዕይ ለማስፈጸም ተስማሚ ቦታ ማግኘት ነበር፤ እሱም አሌክሳንድሪያ ሆነች።
የአፍሪካ ብቃትና ስኬትን ማክበር
የዝግጅቱ ዓላማ ግልጽ ከሆነ በኋላ ዶ/ር አበዛ ግራንድ አፍሪካን ሩንን ከአፍሪካና ከዓለም የተወደዱ ታዋቂ አትሌቶች ጋር ለማገናኘት ችለዋል። ከእነዚህም መካከል የኦሎምፒክ ታሪካዊ አትሌቶች ጥሩነሽ ዲባባ እና ደራርቱ ቱሉ ይገኙበታል።
በአቅራቢያውም ለህፃናት የሚዘጋጅ የሩጫ ውድድር ይካሄዳል፤ ይህም ለዝግጅቱ ሌላ የደስታና የተሳትፎ ደረጃን ይጨምራል።
ዶ/ር አበዛ እንደሚሉት፦
“በአሌክሳንድሪያ ሁሉም ባህሎች ይገናኛሉ። ውብ ከተማ ናት፤ ከዓለም የመጡ ሰዎችም በውስጧ ይኖራሉ። ፍጹም መዳረሻ ናት። ከVisit Alexandria የሚደረገው ድጋፍም ሚና አለው። አሁን ያለችው ከንቲባ አሊያ ጋስኪንስ፣ የከተማው ምክር ቤት አባል ጆን ቴይለር ቻፕማን እና ሌሎችም በጣም ደጋፊ ነበሩ። ለዚህም ነው በአሌክሳንድሪያ የምናደርገው።”

Grand African Run
Step up to the starting line for the Grand African Run, a nonprofit event where people from all walks of life come together for a 5K run and a cultural experience rooted in connection and belonging.
Families spanning generations, people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences create a vibrant sea of runners, joggers, and walkers—united by matching-colored shirts.
“All human beings in the same type of shirt…so you can’t tell who is old or young, rich or poor. I love that feeling of seeing a stream of people by the start line, because there’s a lot of hard work that goes into this event,” says Dr. Gashaw Abeza, founder of the Grand African Run.
More than a race through Alexandria’s neighborhoods, including Old Town and Potomac Yard, the Grand African Run is an immersive cultural experience. Live performers take the stage as musicians play African drums and violins, while dancers showcase Eskista, the traditional Ethiopian dance, alongside cultural performances from Eritrea, Rwanda, Kenya, and other African communities.
Vendors also offer food, cultural products, and artifacts from across the African diaspora. Charity partners connect with participants and give runners the opportunity to support causes of their choice, including the African Women’s Cancer Awareness Association (AWCAA), Your Ethiopian Professionals Network (YEP), Raeye Children Aid (RCA) and many other organizations. Among them is WIHA, which supports underserved communities in Africa by providing clean water, menstrual pads, and other essential resources.
Alexandria: A City of Connection
Dr. Abeza says Alexandria quickly became the perfect home for the Grand African Run.
“The city is the people. People from all over the world live in Alexandria. You are welcome, and the experiences prove it.”
That spirit of community and giving continues throughout the event. Participants also have the opportunity to enter a lottery drawing for a car, with the 2026 Toyota Corolla serving as this year’s prize.
The event also features the African Impact Award, which recognizes extraordinary achievements by African leaders across different industries.
“It’s open for anyone. Everybody is welcome to run in it. But we called it that way to celebrate Africa’s achievements, so we called it Grand African Run,” Dr. Abeza explains.
Inspired by Africa’s Running Culture
The name Grand African Run also reflects Africa’s remarkable running culture, something Dr. Abeza encountered early in his career while working at a local running event that attracted more than 30,000 participants.
“That early age of my career was beautiful. That was my very first job, which I did for five years, and during that time, men, women, anyone disabled, they all came together.”
For nearly five years, Dr. Abeza helped organize running events and saw firsthand how sport could bring people together regardless of age, background, or ability.
Over the years, he developed an extensive career as a researcher, professor, and consultant in sports business. But while pursuing his doctoral degree, settling down with his wife and children, and reflecting on what it meant to build a home in another country, he began thinking more deeply about purpose.
“I can teach. Write books and educate students. But so, what? I started to think, I have got to do something. If life took me to this part of the world, I want to give back. When I’m 70, what am I going to tell my kids? You have purpose in your life. I have a purpose in my life. Everyone has got purpose in this life, right? My purpose is giving back.”
That search for purpose became the inspiration for the Grand African Run. The remaining question was where to bring the vision to life—and Alexandria proved to be the place.
Celebrating African Excellence
With the event's purpose firmly established, Dr. Abeza has brought the Grand African Run to the attention of some of Africa and the world's celebrated athletes, including Olympic legends Tirunesh Dibaba and Derartu Tulu.
A dedicated kids’ race also takes place nearby, adding another generation to the celebration.
“In Alexandria, all cultures come together. It’s a beautiful city and people from all over the world live in it. It’s a perfect destination, and having support from Visit Alexandria plays a role as well. The current Mayor Alyia Gaskins, Councilman John Taylor Chapman, those people they have been amazingly supportive. That’s why we do it in Alexandria,” says Dr. Abeza.
Join the Grand African Run
The Grand African Run will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in Alexandria, Virginia.
It is more than a 5K. It is a gathering of communities, cultures, generations, athletes, families, charities, and supporters coming together to celebrate Africa, its people, achievements, and spirit of belonging.

የአፍሪካ ብቃትና ስኬትን ማክበር

“All human beings in the same type of shirt…so you can’t tell who is old or young, rich or poor. I love that feeling of seeing a stream of people by the start line, because there’s a lot of hard work that goes into this event,” says Dr. Gashaw Abeza, founder of the Grand African Run.
More than a race through Alexandria’s neighborhoods, including Old Town and Potomac Yard, the Grand African Run is an immersive cultural experience. Live performers take the stage as musicians play African drums and violins, while dancers showcase Eskista, the traditional Ethiopian dance, alongside cultural performances from Eritrea, Rwanda, Kenya, and other African communities.
Vendors also offer food, cultural products, and artifacts from across the African diaspora. Charity partners connect with participants and give runners the opportunity to support causes of their choice, including the African Women’s Cancer Awareness Association (AWCAA), Your Ethiopian Professionals Network (YEP), Raeye Children Aid (RCA) and many other organizations. Among them is WIHA, which supports underserved communities in Africa by providing clean water, menstrual pads, and other essential resources.
Alexandria: A City of Connection
Dr. Abeza says Alexandria quickly became the perfect home for the Grand African Run.
“The city is the people. People from all over the world live in Alexandria. You are welcome, and the experiences prove it.”
That spirit of community and giving continues throughout the event. Participants also have the opportunity to enter a lottery drawing for a car, with the 2026 Toyota Corolla serving as this year’s prize.
The event also features the African Impact Award, which recognizes extraordinary achievements by African leaders across different industries.
“It’s open for anyone. Everybody is welcome to run in it. But we called it that way to celebrate Africa’s achievements, so we called it Grand African Run,” Dr. Abeza explains.
Inspired by Africa’s Running Culture
The name Grand African Run also reflects Africa’s remarkable running culture, something Dr. Abeza encountered early in his career while working at a local running event that attracted more than 30,000 participants.
“That early age of my career was beautiful. That was my very first job, which I did for five years, and during that time, men, women, anyone disabled, they all came together.”
For nearly five years, Dr. Abeza helped organize running events and saw firsthand how sport could bring people together regardless of age, background, or ability.
Over the years, he developed an extensive career as a researcher, professor, and consultant in sports business. But while pursuing his doctoral degree, settling down with his wife and children, and reflecting on what it meant to build a home in another country, he began thinking more deeply about purpose.
“I can teach. Write books and educate students. But so, what? I started to think, I have got to do something. If life took me to this part of the world, I want to give back. When I’m 70, what am I going to tell my kids? You have purpose in your life. I have a purpose in my life. Everyone has got purpose in this life, right? My purpose is giving back.”
That search for purpose became the inspiration for the Grand African Run. The remaining question was where to bring the vision to life—and Alexandria proved to be the place.
Celebrating African Excellence
With the event's purpose firmly established, Dr. Abeza has brought the Grand African Run to the attention of some of Africa and the world's celebrated athletes, including Olympic legends Tirunesh Dibaba and Derartu Tulu.
A dedicated kids’ race also takes place nearby, adding another generation to the celebration.
“In Alexandria, all cultures come together. It’s a beautiful city and people from all over the world live in it. It’s a perfect destination, and having support from Visit Alexandria plays a role as well. The current Mayor Alyia Gaskins, Councilman John Taylor Chapman, those people they have been amazingly supportive. That’s why we do it in Alexandria,” says Dr. Abeza.

Ethio telecom, in partnership with Djibouti Telecom and Sudatel Group, has successfully hosted a high-level stakeholders' workshop to advance the pre-commercialisation phase of the Horizon Cross-Border Terrestrial Fiber Initiative. Formalized under a robust consortium framework, the secure corridor connects Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Sudan, offering global carriers and hyperscalers a highly reliable, low-latency alternative route for subsea cable traffic across the Red Sea.
Held in Addis Ababa, the workshop focused intensely on the commercial and technical requirements of the high-capacity terrestrial fiber corridor being developed across the region. Engineered with a fully protected, redundant architecture, the route seamlessly links cable landing stations in Djibouti and Port Sudan via Ethiopia, featuring expert network architecture insights from Ciena, Nokia, and BringCom.
The successful gathering convened leading global technology and connectivity organizations, including Google, Meta (via HIPConsult), Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Airtel Africa, Bayobab, WIOCC, Nokia, Ciena, center3, Saudi Vision, and China Mobile International. During these strategic sessions, participating partners and global operators expressed strong interest in leveraging and monetizing the multi-terabit capabilities of the Horizon Fiber corridor.

ይህ ስፍራ አንድ የዓለም ቅርስ ቢሆንም፣ ዩኔስኮ ለዚህ ቦታ "የላቀ ሁለንተናዊ እሴት" (Outstanding Universal Value) የሰጠው በሦስት ዋና ዋና የባህል መስፈርቶች (iv እና v) ላይ በመመስረት ነው።

ሐረር የአፍሪካ እና የእስልምና ወጎች ያልተለመደ ውህደትን ትወክላለች። የከተማዋ አቀማመጥ እና የ"ሐረሪ" ቤቶች ዲዛይን—በመሃል ላይ በሚገኙ ግቢዎች እና ውስጣዊ ግድግዳዎቻቸው ላይ በሚታዩ ውስብስብ እና ያሸበረቁ የእንጨት ቅርጻ ቅርጾች የሚታወቁ—በክልሉ ከሚገኙ ሌሎች የእስልምና ከተሞች የተለዩ ያደርጓታል። ይህም የኢትዮጵያ ደጋማ አካባቢዎች እና የሰፊው የእስልምና ዓለም ለዘመናት የነበራቸው መስተጋብር ውጤት የሆነ ልዩ ማንነትን ፈጥሯል።
2. ልዩ የሆነ የሃይማኖት ፋይዳ
ብዙውን ጊዜ በእስልምና አራተኛዋ የተቀደሰች ከተማ ተብላ የምትጠራው (ከመካ፣ ከመዲና እና ከኢየሩሳሌም በመቀጠል)፣ ሐረር ትልቅ መንፈሳዊ ማዕከል ናት። በከተማዋ ግንብ ውስጥ እጅግ በጣም ብዙ የሃይማኖት ስፍራዎች ይገኛሉ፦
ሦስቱ ከ10ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን ጀምሮ የቆዩትን ጨምሮ 82 መስጊዶች።
ለአካባቢው ቅዱሳን እና እስላማዊ ታላላቅ ሰዎች የተገነቡ 102 መቃብሮች (ሸሪዎች)።
3. "ሕያው" የሆነ ታሪካዊ የከተማ ገጽታ
እንደ ብዙዎቹ የቅርስ ስፍራዎች ሳይሆን፣ ሐረር የመካከለኛው ዘመን የከተማ አወቃቀሯን በመጠበቅ እንደ ዘመናዊ የባህል ማዕከል የምታገለግል "ሕያው" የቅርስ ከተማ ናት። በ13ኛው እና በ16ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን መካከል የተገነባው "ጁጎል" (የመከላከያ ግንብ)፣ አሁንም የድሮዋን ታሪካዊ ከተማ ይከብባል። ይህም የባህላዊ ማህበራዊ አደረጃጀትን፣ የመንገድ አቀማመጥን እና ቀደም ሲል ኢትዮጵያን ከአረብ ባሕረ ገብ መሬት እና ከዓለም ገበያዎች ጋር ያገናኙ የነበሩ ጥንታዊ የንግድ መስመሮችን ጠብቆ እንዲቆይ አድርጓል።
ሐረር በኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ካሉ ዘጠኝ የዓለም ቅርስ ቦታዎች አንዷ ነች። ሌሎችም የላሊበላ ውቅር አብያተ ክርስቲያናት፣ የስምየን ተራሮች ብሔራዊ ፓርክ፣ የአክሱም ሥልጣኔ፣ የፋሲል ግቢ (ጎንደር)፣ የአዋሽ ሸለቆ፣ የታችኛው ኦሞ ሸለቆ፣ የቲያ ሐውልቶች እና የኮንሶ የባህል መልክዓ ምድር ይገኙበታል።
Harar is officially recognized by UNESCO as a single World Heritage site: Harar Jugol, the Fortified Historic Town. It was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2006 under the official name Harar Jugol, the Fortified Historic Town.
While it is a single site, UNESCO’s recognition is based on three primary cultural criteria (iv and v) that define why it holds "Outstanding Universal Value":
1. Unique Architectural Synthesis
Harar represents an exceptional fusion of African and Islamic traditions. Its urban layout and "Harari" house designs—characterized by central courtyards and intricate, colorful interior woodwork—are distinct from other Islamic cities in the region. This creates a unique architectural identity resulting from centuries of interaction between the Ethiopian highlands and the wider Muslim world.
2. Exceptional Religious Significance
Often described as the fourth holiest city in Islam (after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem), Harar serves as a major spiritual center. Within its walls, the city contains an extraordinary concentration of religious sites:
82 mosques, three of which date back to the 10th century.
102 shrines dedicated to local saints and Islamic figures.

Unlike many archeological sites, Harar is a "living" heritage city that has preserved its medieval urban fabric while functioning as a modern cultural hub. Its "Jugol" (defensive wall), built between the 13th and 16th centuries, still encloses the historic old town, maintaining the traditional social organization, street patterns, and ancient trade routes that once connected Ethiopia to the Arabian Peninsula and global markets.
Harar is one of nine total recognitions in the country. The others include the Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela, the Simien Mountains National Park, the Kingdom of Aksum, Fasil Ghebbi (Gondar), the Lower Valley of the Awash, the Lower Omo Valley, the Tiya Stelae, and the Konso Cultural Landscape.

ሐረር በዩኔስኮ (UNESCO) በአንድ የዓለም ቅርስነት ዕውቅና የተሰጠው ሲሆን ይህም "ሐረር ጁጎል፣ የተመሸገች ታሪካዊ ከተማ" በመባል ይታወቃል። እ.ኤ.አ. በ2006 "ሐረር ጁጎል፣ የተመሸገች ታሪካዊ ከተማ" በሚል ኦፊሴላዊ ስም በዓለም ቅርስነት መዝገብ ውስጥ ሰፍሯል።
ይህ ስፍራ አንድ የዓለም ቅርስ ቢሆንም፣ ዩኔስኮ ለዚህ ቦታ "የላቀ ሁለንተናዊ እሴት" (Outstanding Universal Value) የሰጠው በሦስት ዋና ዋና የባህል መስፈርቶች (iv እና v) ላይ በመመስረት ነው።
1. ልዩ የሕንፃ ጥበብ ውህደት
ሐረር የአፍሪካ እና የእስልምና ወጎች ያልተለመደ ውህደትን ትወክላለች። የከተማዋ አቀማመጥ እና የ"ሐረሪ" ቤቶች ዲዛይን—በመሃል ላይ በሚገኙ ግቢዎች እና ውስጣዊ ግድግዳዎቻቸው ላይ በሚታዩ ውስብስብ እና ያሸበረቁ የእንጨት ቅርጻ ቅርጾች የሚታወቁ—በክልሉ ከሚገኙ ሌሎች የእስልምና ከተሞች የተለዩ ያደርጓታል። ይህም የኢትዮጵያ ደጋማ አካባቢዎች እና የሰፊው የእስልምና ዓለም ለዘመናት የነበራቸው መስተጋብር ውጤት የሆነ ልዩ ማንነትን ፈጥሯል።
2. ልዩ የሆነ የሃይማኖት ፋይዳ
ብዙውን ጊዜ በእስልምና አራተኛዋ የተቀደሰች ከተማ ተብላ የምትጠራው (ከመካ፣ ከመዲና እና ከኢየሩሳሌም በመቀጠል)፣ ሐረር ትልቅ መንፈሳዊ ማዕከል ናት። በከተማዋ ግንብ ውስጥ እጅግ በጣም ብዙ የሃይማኖት ስፍራዎች ይገኛሉ፦
ሦስቱ ከ10ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን ጀምሮ የቆዩትን ጨምሮ 82 መስጊዶች።
ለአካባቢው ቅዱሳን እና እስላማዊ ታላላቅ ሰዎች የተገነቡ 102 መቃብሮች (ሸሪዎች)።
3. "ሕያው" የሆነ ታሪካዊ የከተማ ገጽታ
እንደ ብዙዎቹ የቅርስ ስፍራዎች ሳይሆን፣ ሐረር የመካከለኛው ዘመን የከተማ አወቃቀሯን በመጠበቅ እንደ ዘመናዊ የባህል ማዕከል የምታገለግል "ሕያው" የቅርስ ከተማ ናት። በ13ኛው እና በ16ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን መካከል የተገነባው "ጁጎል" (የመከላከያ ግንብ)፣ አሁንም የድሮዋን ታሪካዊ ከተማ ይከብባል። ይህም የባህላዊ ማህበራዊ አደረጃጀትን፣ የመንገድ አቀማመጥን እና ቀደም ሲል ኢትዮጵያን ከአረብ ባሕረ ገብ መሬት እና ከዓለም ገበያዎች ጋር ያገናኙ የነበሩ ጥንታዊ የንግድ መስመሮችን ጠብቆ እንዲቆይ አድርጓል።
ሐረር በኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ካሉ ዘጠኝ የዓለም ቅርስ ቦታዎች አንዷ ነች። ሌሎችም የላሊበላ ውቅር አብያተ ክርስቲያናት፣ የስምየን ተራሮች ብሔራዊ ፓርክ፣ የአክሱም ሥልጣኔ፣ የፋሲል ግቢ (ጎንደር)፣ የአዋሽ ሸለቆ፣ የታችኛው ኦሞ ሸለቆ፣ የቲያ ሐውልቶች እና የኮንሶ የባህል መልክዓ ምድር ይገኙበታል።
Harar is officially recognized by UNESCO as a single World Heritage site: Harar Jugol, the Fortified Historic Town. It was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2006 under the official name Harar Jugol, the Fortified Historic Town.
While it is a single site, UNESCO’s recognition is based on three primary cultural criteria (iv and v) that define why it holds "Outstanding Universal Value":

Harar represents an exceptional fusion of African and Islamic traditions. Its urban layout and "Harari" house designs—characterized by central courtyards and intricate, colorful interior woodwork—are distinct from other Islamic cities in the region. This creates a unique architectural identity resulting from centuries of interaction between the Ethiopian highlands and the wider Muslim world.
2. Exceptional Religious Significance
Often described as the fourth holiest city in Islam (after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem), Harar serves as a major spiritual center. Within its walls, the city contains an extraordinary concentration of religious sites:
82 mosques, three of which date back to the 10th century.
102 shrines dedicated to local saints and Islamic figures.

#ethiopia | በአፍሪካና በኢትዮጵያ ለበርካታ ዓመታት በሕክምና ሙያቸው፣ በደራሲነታቸውና በሰብአዊ ድጋፍ ሥራዎቻቸው ደካማና ረዳት የሌላቸውን ወገኖች ሲረዱ የቆዩት ታዋቂው ጣሊያናዊ ምሁር ፕሮፌሰር ኮሎኔል ኤንሪኮ ፒዬሮ ቦሲ (ዶክተር) በተወለዱ በ81 ዓመታቸው ሰኔ 10 ቀን 2024 ዓ.ም. ተለይተውናል።
ፕሮፌሰሩ ለአርባ አምስት ዓመታት በዘለቀው ሙያዊ ሕይወታቸው በአርባ ሁለት የአፍሪካ ሀገራት እየተዘዋወሩ በበጎ ፈቃደኝነት የሕክምና አገልግሎት የሰጡ ሲሆን፣ በኦርቶፔዲክስ (የአጥንት) እና በዴርማቶሎጂ (የቆዳ) ሕክምና ስፔሻሊስት ነበሩ።
በሱዳን የሚገኘውን ትልቅ ሆስፒታል ጣሊያኖች በሚገነቡበት ወቅት ከፍተኛ የገንዘብ ፈንድ በማምጣት ረገድ የላቀ አስተዋጽኦ አበርክተዋል።
በሀገራችን ኢትዮጵያም ለሀያ ዓመታት ያህል ያገለገሉ ሲሆን፣ የአዳማ አጠቃላይ ሆስፒታልን በማቋቋም የመጀመሪያው ዳይሬክተር በመሆን ሰርተዋል።
በተጨማሪም በዳኑ ሆስፒታል፣ በአቤት ሆስፒታል ድንገተኛ አደጋ ክፍል በአጥንት ስፔሻሊስትነት የሰሩ ሲሆን፣ በየዓመቱ ከጣሊያን ወደ ወሊሶ ሆስፒታል እየመጡ ሰፊ የኦፕራሲዮን ሕክምና አገልግሎት በነፃ ይሰጡ ነበር።
ፕሮፌሰር ኤንሪኮ የሰውን ልጅ በዘር፣ በቋንቋ፣ በቆዳ ቀለምና በሃይማኖት የማይለዩ ፍፁም የሰብአዊነት ተምሳሌት ነበሩ። በአውሮፓ የኮሶቮ ጦርነት ወቅት የአንድ ዓመት ደሞዛቸውን በመተው በጦርነቱ መሃል በነፃ የሕክምና አገልግሎት የሰጡ ሲሆን፣ በኢትዮ-ኤርትራ ጦርነት ወቅትም በመጀመሪያዎቹ አምስት ጣሊያናውያን የሕክምና ባለሙያዎች ቡድን ውስጥ በመሆን በሄሊኮፕተር ወደ ስፍራው ያቀኑ ታላቅ ባለውለታ ናቸው።
በጣሊያን ሚላኖ "ናጋ" የተሰኘ የሕክምና ማዕከል በማቋቋምም አፍሪካውያንና የሌሎች ሀገራት ስደተኞችን፣ በተለይም የሕጋዊ ሰነድና የገንዘብ አቅም የሌላቸውን ወገኖች በነፃ ሲያክሙ ቆይተዋል።
ብዙዎች ስለ ሀገር ሲያነሱ "የአባት ሀገር" ወይም "የእናት ሀገር" ቢሉም፣ ፕሮፌሰሩ ግን ለኢትዮጵያ የነበራቸው ፍቅር ጥልቅ በመሆኑ ሁልጊዜም "የልጄ የካሌብ ሀገር" በማለት በኩራት ይገልጿት ነበር።
ስለ ኢትዮጵያ ታሪክ፣ ባህልና ወታደራዊ ታሪክ በርካታ ምርምሮችን ያደረጉት ፕሮፌሰሩ፣ በአጠቃላይ ከ46 በላይ መጻሕፍትን በኢንግሊዘኛና በጣሊያንኛ ቋንቋዎች አሳትመዋል።
ከእነዚህም መካከል "The History of Imperial Ethiopian Army" የተሰኘውና ለኢትዮጵያ ወታደራዊ ምርምር ማዕከል ያበረከቱት መጽሐፍ፣ "ደስታስ ይርስ ኤንድ ላይፍ 1892-1937" እና "Aethiopia la moneta Africana" የሚሉት ተጠቃሽ ናቸው። የቡና አመጣጥ ከኢትዮጵያ መሆኑን ለአለም ካስተዋወቁበት ስራቸው ባሻገር የዘመነ መሳፍንትን ፍፃሜ የሚያሳይ ታሪካዊ መጽሐፍ ይጠቀሳሉ።
እኝህ ታላቅ ምሁር ስኮላር፣ ዶክተር፣ የሚሊተሪ ኦፊሰር እና ደራሲ ብቻ ሳይሆኑ፣ በሚላኖ ካቶሊክ ዩኒቨርሲቲ "ትንሹ ልዑል" የተሰኘውን የሕጻናት መጽሐፍ በ55 ዓለም አቀፍ ቋንቋዎች በመተርጎም ያሳተሙ ተርጓሚና ድንቅ የቅብ ሥራዎችን ያበረከቱ ሰዓሊም ነበሩ።
ምንም እንኳን ሞት በድንገት ከሚወዷቸው ባለቤታቸው ወይዘሮ ሳራ የማነ እና ከልጃቸው ካሌብ ጆርጂ ቢለያቸውም፣ ያኖሩት ታላቅ አሻራ ግን ከመቃብር በላይ ሁሌም ሕያው ሆኖ ይኖራል።
ባለቤታቸውና ልጃቸው የፕሮፌሰሩን ውርስና ሌጋሲ ለማስቀጠል፣ እሳቸው ሳይታተሙ የተዉትንና ስለ ኢትዮጵያ ጉዳይ በአምስት መቶ አምስት መቶ ገጾች የተቀነበቡ ሁለት አዳዲስ መጻሕፍትን ለሕትመት ለማብቃት እየተንቀሳቀሱ ይገኛሉ።
ፕሮፌሰሩ ኢትዮጵያን የመወደዳቸው ምዕራፍ የተገለጠው፤ የተጀመረው በባለቤታቸውና በልጃቸው እንደሆነ ይናገሩ ነበር። በዚህ መሠረት ቤተሰቦቻቸው በኢትዮጵያ ምድር በስማቸው ሙዚየም ለመክፈት አልያም በእርሳቸው የተሰሩ ሥራዎችን እንዲሁም ልዩ ልዩ ቁሳቁሶችን ለኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ ሙዚየም ለማበርከት ሰፊ እንቅስቃሴ ላይ ናቸው።
የፕሮፌሰር ኮሎኔል ኤንሪኮ ፒዬሮ ቦሲን ሕይወትና ሥራዎች ፤ ለአገርና ለሕዝብ ያበረከቱትን አስተዋጸኦ በክብር የሚዘክር ሥራ ከኢትዮጵያ ቅርስ ባለሥልጣን ይጠበቃል።

In Memory of Professor Colonel Enrico Piero Bossi
Italian scholar and human rights advocate
His wife, Mrs. Sara Yemane, and their son, Caleb Giorgi, are working to preserve and continue his legacy.
#ethiopia | The renowned Italian scholar, Professor Colonel Enrico Piero Bossi (M.D.), who dedicated many years of his life in Africa and Ethiopia through his medical profession, authorship, and humanitarian activities, helping vulnerable and disadvantaged communities, passed away at the age of 81 on June 17, 2024.
During his distinguished 45-year professional career, Professor Bossi volunteered medical services across 42 African countries. He was a specialist in Orthopedics (bone and musculoskeletal medicine) and Dermatology (skin medicine).
He made a significant contribution to securing major funding for the construction of a large hospital in Sudan built by Italian organizations.
In Ethiopia, where he served for nearly twenty years, he played a key role in establishing Adama General Hospital and served as its first director.
Additionally, he worked as an orthopedic specialist at Danu Hospital and in the Emergency Department of Abet Hospital. Every year, he traveled from Italy to Woliso Hospital, where he provided extensive surgical services free of charge.
Professor Enrico was a true symbol of humanity, treating all people equally regardless of race, language, skin color, or religion. During the Kosovo War in Europe, he gave up an entire year’s salary to provide free medical services in the war zone. Likewise, during the Ethio-Eritrean War, he was among the first five Italian medical professionals who flew by helicopter to the conflict area to provide humanitarian assistance.
In Milan, Italy, he founded the medical center known as “NAGA,” where he provided free healthcare services to African immigrants and migrants from other countries, particularly those lacking legal documentation or financial means.
While many people refer to their homeland as their “fatherland” or “motherland,” Professor Bossi’s love for Ethiopia was so profound that he proudly referred to it as “the country of my son, Caleb.”
A dedicated researcher of Ethiopian history, culture, and military history, Professor Bossi authored and published more than 46 books in English and Italian.

His work helped introduce Ethiopia’s role as the birthplace of coffee to the wider world. He also authored historical works documenting the end of the Era of the Princes (Zemene Mesafint).
Professor Bossi was not only a scholar, physician, military officer, and author, but also a translator and artist. At the Catholic University of Milan, he translated and published The Little Prince in 55 international languages and contributed remarkable artistic and illustrative works.
Although death unexpectedly separated him from his beloved wife, Mrs. Sara Yemane, and his son, Caleb Giorgi, the remarkable legacy he left behind will remain alive far beyond his grave.
To preserve Professor Bossi’s legacy, his wife and son are working to complete and publish two previously unpublished manuscripts. These extensive works, each consisting of approximately 500 pages, focus on Ethiopian subjects and were left unfinished by the professor.
The professor used to say that the chapter of his love for Ethiopia was revealed—and indeed began—with his wife and his child. Based on this, his family is actively working either to open a museum in Ethiopia bearing his name or to donate his works, along with various personal artifacts and items, to the Ethiopian National Museum.
It is hoped that the Ethiopian Heritage Authority will undertake initiatives to honor and commemorate Professor Colonel Enrico Piero Bossi’s life, work, and invaluable contributions to the nation and its people.
May his memory and contributions continue to inspire future generations.

ፕሮፌሰሩ ለአርባ አምስት ዓመታት በዘለቀው ሙያዊ ሕይወታቸው በአርባ ሁለት የአፍሪካ ሀገራት እየተዘዋወሩ በበጎ ፈቃደኝነት የሕክምና አገልግሎት የሰጡ ሲሆን፣ በኦርቶፔዲክስ (የአጥንት) እና በዴርማቶሎጂ (የቆዳ) ሕክምና ስፔሻሊስት ነበሩ።
በሱዳን የሚገኘውን ትልቅ ሆስፒታል ጣሊያኖች በሚገነቡበት ወቅት ከፍተኛ የገንዘብ ፈንድ በማምጣት ረገድ የላቀ አስተዋጽኦ አበርክተዋል።
በሀገራችን ኢትዮጵያም ለሀያ ዓመታት ያህል ያገለገሉ ሲሆን፣ የአዳማ አጠቃላይ ሆስፒታልን በማቋቋም የመጀመሪያው ዳይሬክተር በመሆን ሰርተዋል።
በተጨማሪም በዳኑ ሆስፒታል፣ በአቤት ሆስፒታል ድንገተኛ አደጋ ክፍል በአጥንት ስፔሻሊስትነት የሰሩ ሲሆን፣ በየዓመቱ ከጣሊያን ወደ ወሊሶ ሆስፒታል እየመጡ ሰፊ የኦፕራሲዮን ሕክምና አገልግሎት በነፃ ይሰጡ ነበር።
ፕሮፌሰር ኤንሪኮ የሰውን ልጅ በዘር፣ በቋንቋ፣ በቆዳ ቀለምና በሃይማኖት የማይለዩ ፍፁም የሰብአዊነት ተምሳሌት ነበሩ። በአውሮፓ የኮሶቮ ጦርነት ወቅት የአንድ ዓመት ደሞዛቸውን በመተው በጦርነቱ መሃል በነፃ የሕክምና አገልግሎት የሰጡ ሲሆን፣ በኢትዮ-ኤርትራ ጦርነት ወቅትም በመጀመሪያዎቹ አምስት ጣሊያናውያን የሕክምና ባለሙያዎች ቡድን ውስጥ በመሆን በሄሊኮፕተር ወደ ስፍራው ያቀኑ ታላቅ ባለውለታ ናቸው።
በጣሊያን ሚላኖ "ናጋ" የተሰኘ የሕክምና ማዕከል በማቋቋምም አፍሪካውያንና የሌሎች ሀገራት ስደተኞችን፣ በተለይም የሕጋዊ ሰነድና የገንዘብ አቅም የሌላቸውን ወገኖች በነፃ ሲያክሙ ቆይተዋል።
ብዙዎች ስለ ሀገር ሲያነሱ "የአባት ሀገር" ወይም "የእናት ሀገር" ቢሉም፣ ፕሮፌሰሩ ግን ለኢትዮጵያ የነበራቸው ፍቅር ጥልቅ በመሆኑ ሁልጊዜም "የልጄ የካሌብ ሀገር" በማለት በኩራት ይገልጿት ነበር።
ስለ ኢትዮጵያ ታሪክ፣ ባህልና ወታደራዊ ታሪክ በርካታ ምርምሮችን ያደረጉት ፕሮፌሰሩ፣ በአጠቃላይ ከ46 በላይ መጻሕፍትን በኢንግሊዘኛና በጣሊያንኛ ቋንቋዎች አሳትመዋል።
ከእነዚህም መካከል "The History of Imperial Ethiopian Army" የተሰኘውና ለኢትዮጵያ ወታደራዊ ምርምር ማዕከል ያበረከቱት መጽሐፍ፣ "ደስታስ ይርስ ኤንድ ላይፍ 1892-1937" እና "Aethiopia la moneta Africana" የሚሉት ተጠቃሽ ናቸው። የቡና አመጣጥ ከኢትዮጵያ መሆኑን ለአለም ካስተዋወቁበት ስራቸው ባሻገር የዘመነ መሳፍንትን ፍፃሜ የሚያሳይ ታሪካዊ መጽሐፍ ይጠቀሳሉ።
እኝህ ታላቅ ምሁር ስኮላር፣ ዶክተር፣ የሚሊተሪ ኦፊሰር እና ደራሲ ብቻ ሳይሆኑ፣ በሚላኖ ካቶሊክ ዩኒቨርሲቲ "ትንሹ ልዑል" የተሰኘውን የሕጻናት መጽሐፍ በ55 ዓለም አቀፍ ቋንቋዎች በመተርጎም ያሳተሙ ተርጓሚና ድንቅ የቅብ ሥራዎችን ያበረከቱ ሰዓሊም ነበሩ።
ምንም እንኳን ሞት በድንገት ከሚወዷቸው ባለቤታቸው ወይዘሮ ሳራ የማነ እና ከልጃቸው ካሌብ ጆርጂ ቢለያቸውም፣ ያኖሩት ታላቅ አሻራ ግን ከመቃብር በላይ ሁሌም ሕያው ሆኖ ይኖራል።
ባለቤታቸውና ልጃቸው የፕሮፌሰሩን ውርስና ሌጋሲ ለማስቀጠል፣ እሳቸው ሳይታተሙ የተዉትንና ስለ ኢትዮጵያ ጉዳይ በአምስት መቶ አምስት መቶ ገጾች የተቀነበቡ ሁለት አዳዲስ መጻሕፍትን ለሕትመት ለማብቃት እየተንቀሳቀሱ ይገኛሉ።
ፕሮፌሰሩ ኢትዮጵያን የመወደዳቸው ምዕራፍ የተገለጠው፤ የተጀመረው በባለቤታቸውና በልጃቸው እንደሆነ ይናገሩ ነበር። በዚህ መሠረት ቤተሰቦቻቸው በኢትዮጵያ ምድር በስማቸው ሙዚየም ለመክፈት አልያም በእርሳቸው የተሰሩ ሥራዎችን እንዲሁም ልዩ ልዩ ቁሳቁሶችን ለኢትዮጵያ ብሔራዊ ሙዚየም ለማበርከት ሰፊ እንቅስቃሴ ላይ ናቸው።

In Memory of Professor Colonel Enrico Piero Bossi
Italian scholar and human rights advocate
His wife, Mrs. Sara Yemane, and their son, Caleb Giorgi, are working to preserve and continue his legacy.
#ethiopia | The renowned Italian scholar, Professor Colonel Enrico Piero Bossi (M.D.), who dedicated many years of his life in Africa and Ethiopia through his medical profession, authorship, and humanitarian activities, helping vulnerable and disadvantaged communities, passed away at the age of 81 on June 17, 2024.
During his distinguished 45-year professional career, Professor Bossi volunteered medical services across 42 African countries. He was a specialist in Orthopedics (bone and musculoskeletal medicine) and Dermatology (skin medicine).
He made a significant contribution to securing major funding for the construction of a large hospital in Sudan built by Italian organizations.
In Ethiopia, where he served for nearly twenty years, he played a key role in establishing Adama General Hospital and served as its first director.
Additionally, he worked as an orthopedic specialist at Danu Hospital and in the Emergency Department of Abet Hospital. Every year, he traveled from Italy to Woliso Hospital, where he provided extensive surgical services free of charge.
Professor Enrico was a true symbol of humanity, treating all people equally regardless of race, language, skin color, or religion. During the Kosovo War in Europe, he gave up an entire year’s salary to provide free medical services in the war zone. Likewise, during the Ethio-Eritrean War, he was among the first five Italian medical professionals who flew by helicopter to the conflict area to provide humanitarian assistance.
In Milan, Italy, he founded the medical center known as “NAGA,” where he provided free healthcare services to African immigrants and migrants from other countries, particularly those lacking legal documentation or financial means.
While many people refer to their homeland as their “fatherland” or “motherland,” Professor Bossi’s love for Ethiopia was so profound that he proudly referred to it as “the country of my son, Caleb.”
A dedicated researcher of Ethiopian history, culture, and military history, Professor Bossi authored and published more than 46 books in English and Italian.

His work helped introduce Ethiopia’s role as the birthplace of coffee to the wider world. He also authored historical works documenting the end of the Era of the Princes (Zemene Mesafint).
Professor Bossi was not only a scholar, physician, military officer, and author, but also a translator and artist. At the Catholic University of Milan, he translated and published The Little Prince in 55 international languages and contributed remarkable artistic and illustrative works.
Although death unexpectedly separated him from his beloved wife, Mrs. Sara Yemane, and his son, Caleb Giorgi, the remarkable legacy he left behind will remain alive far beyond his grave.
To preserve Professor Bossi’s legacy, his wife and son are working to complete and publish two previously unpublished manuscripts. These extensive works, each consisting of approximately 500 pages, focus on Ethiopian subjects and were left unfinished by the professor.
The professor used to say that the chapter of his love for Ethiopia was revealed—and indeed began—with his wife and his child. Based on this, his family is actively working either to open a museum in Ethiopia bearing his name or to donate his works, along with various personal artifacts and items, to the Ethiopian National Museum.
It is hoped that the Ethiopian Heritage Authority will undertake initiatives to honor and commemorate Professor Colonel Enrico Piero Bossi’s life, work, and invaluable contributions to the nation and its people.
May his memory and contributions continue to inspire future generations.

Health Minister Dr. Mekdes Daba, who made a speech at the assembly, stated that according to the recently released public health survey findings, Ethiopia has recorded encouraging results in reducing maternal and child mortality, and emphasized that in the future, by ensuring universal health coverage, high attention will be given to primary health care to diligently work towards creating a strong health system.

Health Minister Dr. Mekdes Daba, who made a speech at the assembly, stated that according to the recently released public health survey findings, Ethiopia has recorded encouraging results in reducing maternal and child mortality, and emphasized that in the future, by ensuring universal health coverage, high attention will be given to primary health care to diligently work towards creating a strong health system.

As the primary season heats up, this victory provides Kiros with considerable momentum heading into the upcoming assembly and state conventions. Her campaign is expected to leverage this win to increase fundraising and expand its volunteer base.

የአለቃዎች መነፅር፦ ግምት ወይስ እውነት?
በዘመናዊው የሥራ ዓለም ውስጥ አንድ ትልቅ ክፍተት አለ፤ እርሱም በመሪዎችና በሠራተኞች መካከል ያለው የ"ግምት" (Assumption) ገደል ነው። ብዙ መሪዎች “ሠራተኞች ታማኝ አይደሉም፣ ስለ ጥቅማጥቅም እንጂ ስለ ድርጅቱ ግድ የላቸውም፣ ሰነፎችና አጭበርባሪዎች ናቸው” ሲሉ ያማርሯቸዋል።
እነዚህ መሪዎች ለሠራተኞቻቸው ያደረጉትን ደሞዝ ጭማሪና የደረጃ ዕድገት እንደ ትልቅ ውለታ ይቆጥሩታል፤ ሆኖም ሠራተኛው ከጥቂት ወራት በኋላ መልቀቂያ ሲያስገባ በከፍተኛ ብስጭት “Job hoppers” (ሥራ ዘላዮች) ብለው ይፈርጇቸዋል።
እውነታው ግን ይህ ነው፦ መሪው ሁኔታዎችን የሚረዳበት መንገድ፣ የራሱ አእምሮ የቀባው “ቀለም” ውጤት ነው። የምንሰጠው ቀለም የምናየውን ቀለም ይወስነዋል፤ የምናየው ቀለም ደግሞ ባህሪያችንን ይቀርጻል። ይህ ደግሞ እንደ ሰንሰለት ተያይዞ ወደ ስኬት ወይም ወደ ውድቀት ይመራናል።
1. የግምት እስር ቤትና የሀገራት ውድቀት
ዳሮን አሴሞግሉ እና ጄምስ ሮቢንሰን “Why Nations Fail” በተሰኘው ዝነኛ መጽሐፋቸው፣ ሀገራት የሚበለጽጉትም ሆነ የሚወድቁት በመሪዎቻቸው የአስተሳሰብ ውጤት በሆኑ “ተቋማት” (Institutions) ምክንያት እንደሆነ ያስረዳሉ። መሪዎች ስለ ሕዝባቸው ያላቸው ግምት ተቋማቱ “አሳታፊ” (Inclusive) ወይም “በዝባዥ” (Extractive) እንዲሆኑ ያደርጋል።
እንደ ሰሜን ኮሪያ ያሉ ሀገራት መሪዎች፣ ሕዝባቸውን እንደ ጠላት ወይም ሊቆጣጠሩት እንደሚገባ ኃይል ስለሚገምቱ፣ ፖሊሲዎቻቸው ሁሉ በጥርጣሬና በጭቆና ላይ የተመሰረቱ ናቸው። ይህ ጥርጣሬ የሕዝቡን የፈጠራ ተነሳሽነት ይገድለዋል፤ ውጤቱም ድህነት ይሆናል። መሪዎቹም “አያችሁ ሕዝባችን ሰነፍ ነው” የሚል ድምዳሜ ላይ ይደርሳሉ።
ይህ Self-fulfilling prophecy (ራስን የሚያረጋግጥ ትንቢት) ይባላል።
በተቃራኒው እንደ ደቡብ ኮሪያ ወይም ሲንጋፖር ያሉ ሀገራት መሪዎች፣ “ዜጎቻችን ተገቢውን ትምህርትና ዕድል ካገኙ ዓለምን መለወጥ ይችላሉ” የሚል በጎ ግምት ነበራቸው።
የሲንጋፖሩ መሪ ሊ ኩዋን ዩ፣ ሀገሪቱ ምንም የተፈጥሮ ሀብት በሌላት ሁኔታ “ሰው ብቸኛው ሀብታችን ነው” በሚል ግምት ተነስተው በሰው ኃይል ላይ ኢንቨስት አደረጉ። ዛሬ ሲንጋፖር በዓለም ቀዳሚ የኢኮኖሚ ማዕከል የሆነችው በመሪዎቿ “በጎ ግምት” ምክንያት ነው።
2. የአእምሮ ውስብስብነትና የ"Confirmation Bias" አደጋ
ሳይንስ እንደሚያረጋግጠው የሁለት ሰዎች አእምሮ ፈጽሞ ተመሳሳይ አይደለም። ዳንኤል ካህነማን “Thinking, Fast and Slow” በሚለው መጽሐፉ፣ አእምሯችን መረጃዎችን ለማቀናጀት ሁልጊዜ ወደ ቀላሉ መንገድ እንደሚያደላ ይገልጻል። መሪዎችም ተመሳሳይ ሁኔታን በተለያየ መንገድ ይረዱታል። ለምሳሌ፣ አንደኛው መሪ “ገበያው ገና ያልበሰለና አደገኛ ነው” ብሎ ሲፈራ፣ ሌላኛው ግን “ተፎካካሪ የሌለበት ወርቃማ ዕድል ነው” ብሎ ይጓጓል።
ልዩነቱ ያለው ገበያው ላይ ሳይሆን መሪው ይዞት በሚንቀሳቀሰው “የግምት ክበብ” ውስጥ ነው።
በጣም አስፈሪው የግምት ዓይነት Confirmation Bias (የራስን ሃሳብ ደጋፊ መረጃ ብቻ መልቀም) ነው። አንድ መሪ በስብሰባ ወቅት ላፕቶፑን የከፈተ ሠራተኛ ሲያይ “ትኩረት የለውም” ብሎ ሊገምት ይችላል። በዚህ ግምት የተነሳ መሪው ሠራተኛውን ችላ ይለዋል፤ ሠራተኛውም መገፋቱን ሲረዳ ተሳትፎው ይቀንሳል። በመጨረሻም መሪው “ያልኩት አልቀረም፣ ይኸው አይሳተፍም” ይላል። ነገር ግን ምናልባት ያ ሠራተኛ የመሪውን ቃል በቃል እየመዘገበ የነበረ በጣም ትጉህ አባል ሊሆን ይችላል። መሪው የራሱን ግምት ስላልፈተሸ ብቻ አንድ ትልቅ አቅም ያለውን ሠራተኛ አጣ።
3. የድርጅት ባህልና የ"Psychological Safety" ሚና
አሚ ኤድመንድሰን “The Fearless Organization” በሚለው መጽሐፏ፣ በድርጅቶች ውስጥ “ሥነ-ልቦናዊ ደህንነት” (Psychological Safety) መኖሩ ለስኬት ወሳኝ መሆኑን ትገልጻለች። መሪዎች ስለ ሠራተኞቻቸው ያላቸው “አሉታዊ ግምት” በሠራተኛው ውስጥ ፍርሃትን ይፈጥራል። ሠራተኛው ስህተት ሲሠራ “ሊያታልለኝ ፈልጎ ነው” ተብሎ የሚታሰብ ከሆነ፣ አዳዲስ ሃሳቦችን ማቅረብ ያቆማል።
እንደ Netflix ያሉ ስኬታማ ኩባንያዎች መመሪያቸው “ሠራተኛውን እንደ ጎልማሳ ማክበር” (Treat people like adults) የሚል ነው። እነሱ ሠራተኛው “ስራ ይሸሻል” ብለው አይገምቱም። ለዚህም ነው የዕረፍት ጊዜንና ወጪዎችን ሠራተኛው ራሱ እንዲወስን የፈቀዱት። ውጤቱም እጅግ ከፍተኛ የሆነ የሠራተኛ ምርታማነትና ታማኝነት ሆነ። መሪው ሠራተኛውን ካመነው፣ ሠራተኛው ያንን እምነት ለመጠበቅ ራሱን ይገዛል።
4. መፍትሄው፦ ከግምት እስር ቤት የመውጫ መንገዶች
መሪዎች ውሳኔዎቻቸው በእውነት ላይ የተመሰረቱ እንዲሆኑ ሶስት ዋና ዋና ተግባራትን ማከናወን አለባቸው፦
ሀ. የ"Red Team" ስልትን መጠቀም
ይህ ስልት በብዛት በወታደራዊና በደህንነት ተቋማት (ለምሳሌ በእስራኤል መከላከያ ኃይል) ጥቅም ላይ ይውላል። አንድ መሪ አንድን ውሳኔ ከመወሰኑ በፊት፣ የተወሰኑ ሰዎች ተመድበው የመሪውን ግምት እንዲቃወሙና ስህተቱን እንዲያወጡ ይደረጋል። ይህም መሪው በራሱ አድልዎ (Bias) እንዳይታወር ይረዳዋል።
ለ. የተጋላጭነት ትሕትና (Vulnerability & Humility)
ጂም ኮሊንስ “Good to Great” በሚለው መጽሐፉ፣ ምርጥ መሪዎች (Level 5 Leaders) ስኬት ሲመጣ “ወደ መስኮት” (ቡድናቸውን ለማመስገን)፣ ውድቀት ሲመጣ ደግሞ “ወደ መስታወት” (ራሳቸውን ለመገምገም) እንደሚመለከቱ ይገልጻል። “ተሳስቼ ይሆን?” ብሎ መጠየቅ የመሪነት ድክመት ሳይሆን ጥንካሬ ነው።
ሐ. "Think Again" (ዳግም ማሰብ)
አዳም ግራንት “Think Again” በሚለው መጽሐፉ፣ መሪዎች የራሳቸውን እውነት የሚከላከሉ “ጠበቃዎች” ከመሆን ይልቅ፣ እውነታውን የሚፈትሹ “ሳይንቲስቶች” መሆን እንዳለባቸው ይመክራል። ሳይንቲስት የራሱ ግምት ስህተት መሆኑን ለማረጋገጥ ይጥራል።
መሪዎችም “ይህ ሠራተኛ ስራ ፈት ነው” ብለው ከመደምደማቸው በፊት፣ ተቃራኒውን መረጃ ለማግኘት መጣር አለባቸው።

መሪነት ሰዎችን ማዘዝ ብቻ ሳይሆን፣ የራስን አእምሮ መጋረጃ መቅደድ ነው። መሪዎች የሚያዩት ዓለም የውጭውን እውነታ ሳይሆን የውስጣቸውን ስሜት ነው። ሠራተኛው "ታማኝ አይደለም" ብለህ ካመንክ፣ ታማኝነቱን የሚገልጹ ድርጊቶችን ማየት ትተህ፣ ጥርጣሬህን የሚያጠናክሩ ስህተቶችን ብቻ ትለቅማለህ።
በመሆኑም ማንኛውንም እርምጃ ከመውሰድህ በፊት ቆም በልና ራስህን ጠይቅ፦ “ይህ የማየው ነገር በእውነት የሆነ ነው ወይስ የራሴ ግምት ውጤት?” መነፅርህን ስታጸዳ፣ ቡድንህም ሆነ ድርጅትህ አዲስ መልክ ይዘው ይታዩሃል። የግምት እስር ቤትህን ስትሰብር፣ የሠራተኞችህን እውነተኛ አቅም ትፈታለህ።
በዘመናዊው የሥራ ዓለም ውስጥ አንድ ትልቅ ክፍተት አለ፤ እርሱም በመሪዎችና በሠራተኞች መካከል ያለው የ"ግምት" (Assumption) ገደል ነው። ብዙ መሪዎች “ሠራተኞች ታማኝ አይደሉም፣ ስለ ጥቅማጥቅም እንጂ ስለ ድርጅቱ ግድ የላቸውም፣ ሰነፎችና አጭበርባሪዎች ናቸው” ሲሉ ያማርሯቸዋል።
እነዚህ መሪዎች ለሠራተኞቻቸው ያደረጉትን ደሞዝ ጭማሪና የደረጃ ዕድገት እንደ ትልቅ ውለታ ይቆጥሩታል፤ ሆኖም ሠራተኛው ከጥቂት ወራት በኋላ መልቀቂያ ሲያስገባ በከፍተኛ ብስጭት “Job hoppers” (ሥራ ዘላዮች) ብለው ይፈርጇቸዋል።
እውነታው ግን ይህ ነው፦ መሪው ሁኔታዎችን የሚረዳበት መንገድ፣ የራሱ አእምሮ የቀባው “ቀለም” ውጤት ነው። የምንሰጠው ቀለም የምናየውን ቀለም ይወስነዋል፤ የምናየው ቀለም ደግሞ ባህሪያችንን ይቀርጻል። ይህ ደግሞ እንደ ሰንሰለት ተያይዞ ወደ ስኬት ወይም ወደ ውድቀት ይመራናል።
1. የግምት እስር ቤትና የሀገራት ውድቀት
ዳሮን አሴሞግሉ እና ጄምስ ሮቢንሰን “Why Nations Fail” በተሰኘው ዝነኛ መጽሐፋቸው፣ ሀገራት የሚበለጽጉትም ሆነ የሚወድቁት በመሪዎቻቸው የአስተሳሰብ ውጤት በሆኑ “ተቋማት” (Institutions) ምክንያት እንደሆነ ያስረዳሉ። መሪዎች ስለ ሕዝባቸው ያላቸው ግምት ተቋማቱ “አሳታፊ” (Inclusive) ወይም “በዝባዥ” (Extractive) እንዲሆኑ ያደርጋል።
እንደ ሰሜን ኮሪያ ያሉ ሀገራት መሪዎች፣ ሕዝባቸውን እንደ ጠላት ወይም ሊቆጣጠሩት እንደሚገባ ኃይል ስለሚገምቱ፣ ፖሊሲዎቻቸው ሁሉ በጥርጣሬና በጭቆና ላይ የተመሰረቱ ናቸው። ይህ ጥርጣሬ የሕዝቡን የፈጠራ ተነሳሽነት ይገድለዋል፤ ውጤቱም ድህነት ይሆናል። መሪዎቹም “አያችሁ ሕዝባችን ሰነፍ ነው” የሚል ድምዳሜ ላይ ይደርሳሉ።
ይህ Self-fulfilling prophecy (ራስን የሚያረጋግጥ ትንቢት) ይባላል።
በተቃራኒው እንደ ደቡብ ኮሪያ ወይም ሲንጋፖር ያሉ ሀገራት መሪዎች፣ “ዜጎቻችን ተገቢውን ትምህርትና ዕድል ካገኙ ዓለምን መለወጥ ይችላሉ” የሚል በጎ ግምት ነበራቸው።
የሲንጋፖሩ መሪ ሊ ኩዋን ዩ፣ ሀገሪቱ ምንም የተፈጥሮ ሀብት በሌላት ሁኔታ “ሰው ብቸኛው ሀብታችን ነው” በሚል ግምት ተነስተው በሰው ኃይል ላይ ኢንቨስት አደረጉ። ዛሬ ሲንጋፖር በዓለም ቀዳሚ የኢኮኖሚ ማዕከል የሆነችው በመሪዎቿ “በጎ ግምት” ምክንያት ነው።
2. የአእምሮ ውስብስብነትና የ"Confirmation Bias" አደጋ
ሳይንስ እንደሚያረጋግጠው የሁለት ሰዎች አእምሮ ፈጽሞ ተመሳሳይ አይደለም። ዳንኤል ካህነማን “Thinking, Fast and Slow” በሚለው መጽሐፉ፣ አእምሯችን መረጃዎችን ለማቀናጀት ሁልጊዜ ወደ ቀላሉ መንገድ እንደሚያደላ ይገልጻል። መሪዎችም ተመሳሳይ ሁኔታን በተለያየ መንገድ ይረዱታል። ለምሳሌ፣ አንደኛው መሪ “ገበያው ገና ያልበሰለና አደገኛ ነው” ብሎ ሲፈራ፣ ሌላኛው ግን “ተፎካካሪ የሌለበት ወርቃማ ዕድል ነው” ብሎ ይጓጓል።
ልዩነቱ ያለው ገበያው ላይ ሳይሆን መሪው ይዞት በሚንቀሳቀሰው “የግምት ክበብ” ውስጥ ነው።
በጣም አስፈሪው የግምት ዓይነት Confirmation Bias (የራስን ሃሳብ ደጋፊ መረጃ ብቻ መልቀም) ነው። አንድ መሪ በስብሰባ ወቅት ላፕቶፑን የከፈተ ሠራተኛ ሲያይ “ትኩረት የለውም” ብሎ ሊገምት ይችላል። በዚህ ግምት የተነሳ መሪው ሠራተኛውን ችላ ይለዋል፤ ሠራተኛውም መገፋቱን ሲረዳ ተሳትፎው ይቀንሳል። በመጨረሻም መሪው “ያልኩት አልቀረም፣ ይኸው አይሳተፍም” ይላል። ነገር ግን ምናልባት ያ ሠራተኛ የመሪውን ቃል በቃል እየመዘገበ የነበረ በጣም ትጉህ አባል ሊሆን ይችላል። መሪው የራሱን ግምት ስላልፈተሸ ብቻ አንድ ትልቅ አቅም ያለውን ሠራተኛ አጣ።

እንደ Netflix ያሉ ስኬታማ ኩባንያዎች መመሪያቸው “ሠራተኛውን እንደ ጎልማሳ ማክበር” (Treat people like adults) የሚል ነው። እነሱ ሠራተኛው “ስራ ይሸሻል” ብለው አይገምቱም። ለዚህም ነው የዕረፍት ጊዜንና ወጪዎችን ሠራተኛው ራሱ እንዲወስን የፈቀዱት። ውጤቱም እጅግ ከፍተኛ የሆነ የሠራተኛ ምርታማነትና ታማኝነት ሆነ። መሪው ሠራተኛውን ካመነው፣ ሠራተኛው ያንን እምነት ለመጠበቅ ራሱን ይገዛል።

#የቫይረሱ አይነት: ማርበርግ ቫይረስ የፋይሎቫይረስ (Filoviridae) ቤተሰብ አባል ሲሆን ይህም ኢቦላ ቫይረስ የሚገኝበት ቤተሰብ ነው። ለዚህም ነው ሁለቱም በሽታዎች ተመሳሳይ የሕመም ምልክቶች እና የሞት መጠን ያላቸው።
#ክብደት : በሽታው ከባድ እና ከፍተኛ የሞት መጠን ያለው ሲሆን፣ በቅርብ ጊዜ በተከሰቱ ወረርሽኞች በበሽታው ከተያዙት ውስጥ እስከ 88% የሚደርስ ሰዎች ሞተዋል (እንደ ወረርሽኙ ሁኔታ ሊለያይ ይችላል)። #ታሪክ : በሽታው ለመጀመሪያ ጊዜ በ1967 ዓ.ም በጀርመን ማርበርግ እና በፍራንክፈርት እንዲሁም በሰርቢያ ቤልግሬድ ከተሞች ተከስቷል። ቫይረሱ የመጣው ከዩጋንዳ በመጡ የላብራቶሪ ምርምር ዝንጀሮዎች አማካኝነት ነው ይባላል።
2) ስርጭት (በሽታው እንዴት ይተላለፋል?)
+++ ዋናው #ምንጭ : የማርበርግ ቫይረስ ተሸካሚዎች ፍራፍሬ ላይ የሚያዘወትሩ የሌሊት ወፎች (Rousettus bats) ናቸው። ሰዎች በቫይረሱ ሊያዙ የሚችሉት በእነዚህ የሌሊት ወፎች ባሉበት ዋሻዎች ወይም ማዕድናት ውስጥ በመገኘት ነው።
+++ ከሰው ወደ ሰው የሚኖረው #ስርጭት : ቫይረሱ ከሰው ወደ ሰው የሚተላለፈው በበሽታው የተያዘ ሰው ወይም እንስሳት በሚወጡ ፈሳሾች (ደም፣ ምራቅ፣ ማስታወክ፣ ሰገራ፣ ሽንት፣ የዘር ፈሳሽ እና ሌሎች) ጋር በቀጥታ በመገናኘት ነው።
3) #ምልክቶች
የበሽታው ምልክቶች በአብዛኛው ከ2 እስከ 21 ቀናት ባለው ጊዜ ውስጥ ይታያሉ።
የሚከተሉትን እንመልከት #የመጀመሪያ ደረጃ ላይ : ከፍተኛ ትኩሳት፣ ከባድ ራስ ምታት፣ ከባድ የጡንቻና የመገጣጠሚያ ህመም፣ ድካም ስሜት። #ሁለተኛ ደረጃ (ከጥቂት ቀናት በኋላ): ከባድ ተቅማጥ፣ የሆድ ቁርጠት፣ ማቅለሽለሽ፣ ማስታወክ፣ የደረት እና የጉሮሮ ህመም። #የከፋ ደረጃ (ከ5-7 ቀናት በኋላ) ከባድ የደም መፍሰስ (ከአፍንጫ፣ ከድድ፣ ከዓይን እና የቆዳ ስር)፣ የጉበት እና የኩላሊት ድካም፣ የንቃተ ህሊና መሳት፣ የብዝሃ-አካል ስራ መቆም (Multi-organ failure) እና ሞት። ከዚህ በተጨማሪ የዓይን መቅላት፣ የቆዳ ሽፍታ (በተለይ በደረት፣ ጀርባና ሆድ አካባቢ)።
4)የሚሰጠው ህክምና እና መከላከያ መንገዶች #ፈውስ : ለጊዜው ቫይረሱን የሚያጠፋ የተረጋገጠ መድኃኒት ወይም ክትባት የለም። #ህክምና : የሚሰጠው ህክምና ምልክቶችን ለማስታገስ (Supportive Care) ነው። #ፈሳሽ መተካት (IV fluids): በከፍተኛ ተቅማጥ እና ማስታወክ የጠፋውን ፈሳሽ መሙላት ነው። #የደም መፍሰስ ቁጥጥር: የደም ግፊትን ማረጋጋት እና የደም መርጋት መከላከል/ማከም። #የተጎዱትን የአካል ክፍሎች (ኩላሊት፣ ጉበት) ድጋፍ መስጠት።

-) የግል መከላከያ ቁሳቁስ (PPE): የጤና ባለሙያዎች የታመሙ ሰዎችን ሲያክሙ ጓንት፣ ጋውን፣ ጭንብል እና የዓይን መከላከያ የግድ መጠቀም አለባቸው።

ዛሬ ጳጉሜን 2 ምሽት ላይ ኢትዮጵያን ጨምሮ በመላው ምስራቅ አፍሪቃ፣ ምስራቅ አውሮጳ ፣ ማዕከላዊ እስያ ፣ ምዕራባዊ ኦሽኒያ እና በከፊል ሩቅ ምስራቅ እስያ አስደናቂ የሆነ ሙሉ የጨረቃ ግርዶሽ ይታያል።
ይህ ክስተት ጨረቃ በመሬት ሙሉ ጥላ ውስጥ ስታልፍ ደማቅ ቀይ ቀለም ስለምትይዝ " ቀይ ጨረቃ " (Blood Moon) በመባል ይታወቃል።
በኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ እንደምንገኝበት አካባቢ የግርዶሹ አተያይ ላይ መጠነኛ ልዩነት ይኖራል። እስቲ ይህ ግርዶሽ እንዴት እንደሚከሰት እና በሀገራችን ክፍሎች ያለው ልዩነት ምን እንደሆነ በትክክለኛው መረጃ ላይ ተመስርተን እንመልከት።
የጨረቃ ግርዶሽ እንዴት ይከሰታል ?
የጨረቃ ግርዶሽ የሚከሰተው ፀሀይ፣ መሬት እና ጨረቃ በአንድ መስመር ላይ ሲሰለፉና መሬት በፀሀይ እና በጨረቃ መካከል ገብታ ጥላዋን ጨረቃ ላይ ስታሳርፍ ነው።
የመሬት ጥላ ሁለት አይነት ነው ፦
° የመሬት ድብዝዝ ጥላ (Penumbra) የውጪውና ደብዛዛው ሲሆን፣
° የመሬት ጽልም ጥላ (Umbra) ደግሞ ዋናውና ጥቁሩ ጥላ ነው።
ሙሉ ግርዶሽ የሚባለው ጨረቃ ሙሉ በሙሉ በጽልም ጥላ ውስጥ ስትገባ ነው።
በኢትዮጵያ የግርዶሹ አተያይ ልዩነት ፦
1. ምስራቃዊ እና መካከለኛው የኢትዮጵያ ክፍል (ግርዶሹን ሙሉ በሙሉ የሚያዩ)
እነዚህ አካባቢዎች (#አዲስ_አበባን ጨምሮ) ግርዶሹ ከመጀመሪያው እስከ መጨረሻው ድረስ ያሉትን ሁሉንም ሂደቶች ያያሉ። ግርዶሹ ሲጀምር ጨረቃ ቀድማ ሰማይ ላይ ወጥታ ስለምትገኝ፣ የመጀመሪያው የብርሃን መደብዘዝ (በድብዝዝ ጥላ)፣ ወደ ጽልም ጥላ መግባቷ፣ ሙሉ በሙሉ ቀይ መሆኗ እና ከጥላ መውጣቷን በሙሉ መመልከት ይችላሉ።

ልዩነቱ የሚመጣው በመጀመሪያው የድብዝዝ ግርዶሽ (Penumbral Eclipse) ወቅት ነው፦
የድብዝዝ ግርዶሹ የሚጀምረው ምሽት 12:28 ሰዓት (6:28 PM) ላይ ነው።
በዚህ ሰዓት እንደ ጋምቤላ ባሉ ምዕራባዊ ከተሞች ጨረቃ ከአድማስ በታች ስለምትሆን አትታይም።
በጋምቤላ ጨረቃ ከአድማስ በላይ ወጥታ መታየት የምትጀምረው ምሽት 12:39 (6:39 PM) ላይ ነው። ይህ ማለት የጋምቤላ እና ሌሎች የምዕራብ ኢትዮጵያ ተመልካቾች ጨረቃን ማየት ሲጀምሩ፣ እሷ ለ11 ደቂቃ ያህል በድብዝዝ ጥላ ውስጥ ተጉዛለች ማለት ነው። ስለዚህ፣ የሚያመልጣቸው የግርዶሹ የመጀመሪያ 11 ደቂቃ ብቻ ሲሆን፣ ይህ ክፍል ደግሞ በዓይን በቀላሉ የማይለይ የብርሃን መቀነስ ብቻ ነው።
ዋናው ነጥብ በጣም አስደናቂዎቹ የግርዶሹ ክፍሎች (ከፊል እና ሙሉ ግርዶሽ) ከመጀመራቸው በፊት ጨረቃ በሰማይ ላይ በደንብ ከፍ ስለምትል፣ ከነዚህ አስደናቂ ሂደቶች አንድም አያመልጣቸውም።
