Rural Connectivity: Empowering Communities and Bridging the Digital Divide!
Ethio telecom has successfully completed the first year of its Next Horizon: Digital & Beyond 2028 Strategy, marking significant progress in bridging Ethiopia’s digital divide. At the heart of this strategy is our commitment to inclusive, sustainable and transformative rural connectivity, ensuring that geography, distance and limited access to electricity do not prevent communities from participating in the digital economy.
During the fiscal year, we deployed 195 new rural mobile sites, reaching communities located, on average, 14.3 kilometres from the nearest town and 10.6 kilometres from the nearest existing mobile site. This demonstrates our deliberate focus on connecting Ethiopia’s most remote and underserved areas.
This expansion extended connectivity and digital access to 117 woredas and 492 kebeles and villages, enabling more than 1.53 million people to benefit from reliable communications, digital platforms and inclusive financial services.
To address power limitations in remote areas, we deployed 22 additional Rural Solution sites, specifically designed to serve communities with limited or no access to the national electricity grid. We also significantly expanded our green energy infrastructure, increasing installed solar power capacity from 27 MW to 39.72 MW, an additional 12.72 MW in just one year. This investment strengthens network resilience, reduces dependence on conventional energy sources and advances our environmental sustainability commitments.
Connectivity must also translate into meaningful access to essential services. Through our Rural Agent Project, we onboarded 812 new agents across 17 regions, achieving a 58% active-agent rate and bringing telebirr and other essential digital financial services closer to previously underserved communities. Going forward, we will focus on further improving agent activation, productivity and service availability.
We also advanced the fiberization of rural wireless sites, strengthening network capacity, reliability and service quality while preparing rural communities for growing digital demand.

በዶሃ የሚገኘው DPS Modern Indian School፤ የ25ኛ ዓመት የምስረታ በዓሉን እና የ4ኛውን የስነ-ስዕል አውደ ርዕይ ምክንያት በማድረግ ባዘጋጀው መርሐ-ግብር ላይ፤ ሀገሬን በመወከል "የክብር እንግዳ" (Guest of Honor) ሆኜ በመሰየሜ ትልቅ ክብር ይሰማኛል።

6ኛው ፊንቴክስ የፈርኒቸር፣ ቤተ- ውበትና የግንባታ አጨራረስ ኤክስፖ ከጥር 19 ጀምሮ በአዲስ አበባ ሊካሄድ ነው!!
በሀገራችን የፈርኒቸር ቤተ- ውበትና የግንባታ አጨራረስ ዘርፍ ትልቅ ድርሻ ያለው “6ኛው ፊንቴክስ የፈርኒቸር፣ ቤተ- ውበትና የግንባታ አጨራረስ ኤክስፖ” ከጥር 19 እስከ ጥር 22 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም ለ 4 ተከታታይ ቀናት በአዲስ ኢንተርናሽናል ኮንቬንሽን ሴንተር እንደሚካሄድ አዘጋጆቹ አስታወቁ።
ይህ ታላቅ ኤክስፖ በዋናነት በፈርኒቸር አምራቾች፣ በቤተ-ውበት እና በግንባታ አጨራረስ ስራ ላይ ለተሰማሩ ድርጅቶች ሰፊ የገበያ አማራጭ ይዞ መቅረቡ የተገለጸ ሲሆን፣ በርካታ አምራቾች እና አስመጪዎች ምርትና አገልግሎታቸውን ለገበያ የሚያስተዋውቁበት መድረክ እንደሚሆን ተጠቁሟል።

Hybrid Designs(ራይድ) ትራንስፖርት አገልግሎት በቅርቡ ባስጀመረው የሎተሪ መርሃ ግብር አሸናፊ ለሆኑ ደንበኞች የመኖሪያ ቤት ሽልማትን አበርክቷል::
የራይድ መስራች እና ሥራ አስኪያጅ ወ/ሮ ሳምራዊት ፍቅሩ በዝግጅቱ ላይ ባደረጉት ንግግር ድርጀቱ እንዲህ ዓይነት የሎተሪ መርሃ ግብሮችን የሚያዘጋጀው የደንበኞቹን ሕይወት በተሻለ መልኩ ለመቀየር ካለው ራዕይ በመነሳት መሆኑን ገልፀዋል ::
"ራይድ ማንኛውንም ዓይነት ኢኒሼቲቭ ይዞ ሲመጣ የሰውን ሕይወት መቀየር አለበት ብለን እናምናለን " ያሉት ሥራ አስኪያጇ የሎተሪው ዋና ዓላማም የአሸናፊዎችን የቤት ኪራይ እና መሰል ወጪዎችን በማቃለል ደንበኞቻችን የተረጋጋ ሕይወት እንዲመሩ ማስቻል መሆኑንም አስረድተዋል :: በመርሃ ግብሩ የቤት ባለቤት የሆኑት ወይዘሮ ሕይወት ደበላ ለሽልማት ያበቃቸውን የመኖሪያ ቤት ቁልፍ ተረክበዋል :: የመኖሪያ ቤት አሸናፊዋ ከሶስትና ከአራት ዓመታት በላይ የራይድ ትራንስፖርት ደንበኛ እንደነበሩ ጠቅሰዋል ::
ድርጅቱ ይህ የሽልማት መርሃ -ግብር በዚህ እንደማያበቃ እና ወደፊትም በሌሎች የተሻሉ ዝግጅቶች እንደሚቀጥል አስታውቋል ::

TECNO and CAF Elevate Dream On The Field with “Future Star of Africa” Youth Sponsorship Initiative
#ethiopia | TECNO, the Official Global Partner of AFCON Morocco 2025, in collaboration with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has expanded its flagship Dream On The Field charity program with the launch of the “Future Star of Africa” youth sponsorship initiative. This new phase marks a strategic shift from infrastructure development alone to direct, long-term investment in Africa’s emerging football talent.
Moving beyond pitch renovation, the initiative focuses on identifying and supporting promising male and female footballers aged 12 to 15 across the continent, providing structured development and sponsorship until they reach the age of 18. The program is designed to create clear, professional pathways for young players while allowing them to grow and thrive within their home countries.
The launch builds on the strong foundation of the Dream On The Field program, which has already delivered eight renovated football pitches, with seven additional projects currently underway. These efforts align with TECNO’s long-term vision to renovate 100 football pitches across Africa, establishing a sustainable ecosystem that connects grassroots infrastructure with elite player development.
The Future Star of Africa initiative combines CAF’s technical expertise with TECNO’s commitment to empowering young Africans. Talent identification will be conducted through a fair and professional process led by expert scouts, national youth coaches, and sports academics. Players will be evaluated not only on technical skill, but also on mindset, resilience, discipline, and leadership potential, ensuring the development of well-rounded athletes and future role models.
